Hi
I have a bag of cacao nibs and don't like the taste of them as they are.
What recipe can I make to hopefully use them and disguise the taste?
Your help is much appreciated.

Why do you want to disguise the taste. Do you not like it. Why do you want to use it if you do not like it.

She probably bought them thinking she'd maybe like 'em?
I've never done it but some folks have grown them and used the powder. It's not as fine as pre ground.
You could sprinkle them on a Raw ice kream.
You could mix them in a cookie or bread dough.
I love 'em. I mix them and goji berries for a snack...

Yeah, I bought them thinking they'd taste delicious. Raw cacao powder has a really nice taste, so I thought they'd be the same. I really don't want to waste them though. Maybe I could make a cookie recipe or a fudge or something (I don't have a dehydrator, so would have to make something that I could just chill).
Here is a pie crust I made that was so delicious.
Pecans
Cashews
Raw honey
Coconut butter
A bit of orange juice
Cinnamon

I have used them in green smoothies before. Gives a little bit of a coffee feeling to it......
I've also used them in goji balls. I'll try to find the recipe....

That's a really good idea! Thanks Rawrawks! I've often wondered what to do with them too. Even when I top a raw sundae with them their just too bitter.

I really like adding them to crusts for all kinds of pies, cakes, squares, tarts... Gives a nice crunch.

I also add them as raw choco chips in ice cream and also on top of a fruit salad that has bananas as they add a nice crunch and the bitterishness dont matter there. It actually complements nicely.
I add them to raw choco candies n cookies (when I make them) and it makes them crunchy and delish...like nesltes crunch bar(ugh)
My friend eats them out of her hand and loves them. Her sister tasted and said it tasted like tree bark! hahahaha

I pour a bit of agave/honey mixture onto a spoon (that maybe already has an almond or walnut on it), then sprinkle some cacao nibs over that. I also enjoy dipping the end of a banana into them as I eat it. (These days, I'm into lazy raw.) I like the contrast in textures. I was doing this just to use them up after my stash of cacao powder ran out (I refuse to buy more because I eat cacao desserts addictivey). But now I'm starting to like them, and like that I don't want to eat too much when it's in this form, so maybe I'll get more.
I used to grind up cacao nibs into powder, but the puddings I made weren't as smooth as when I used "real" cacao powder. And it formed some clumps that I couldn't break up. I read somewhere that the powder has the cacao butter taken out (but the nibs don't).

My daughter loves to dip dates into raw cacao nibs and crunch 'em down. I have not personally tried this.
