I've been craving peanut butter cups lately! I've been experimenting with dates, almond butter and cocoa powder, but no luck. Any recipes?

Thanks for bumping that other thread, Veganforlife! I don't know why, but I never find what I'm looking for when I search.

You canmake the choco with the ingredients listed except the crunchy stuff and then put in lil candy cupcake papers. Add a dab of you nut butter center, then chill. Bring bac out and add another layer of warm liquid choco mix on top and chill again. Voila~

Happy choco making...enjoy!

Eventually we all have to try and make a substitute for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, don't we? Here is a link to my attempt that I wrote about on my journal. I called it Not Reese's (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/blog.php?b=15839). The "recipe" is down in the comment section of this entry.

It is hard to go wrong with those ingredients, but things can go wrong when playing with chocolate, especially when using coconut oil. It can seperate and leave a white sheen on the chocolate after it hardens. Still tasted excellent.

check out my cashew cup fudge recipe...better than reese!!

my Cashew Butter Fudge recipe:

First make cashew butter:

2 cups raw cashews
4-6 Tbsp canola oil (add more if needed)
1/2 tsp sea salt

blend all in food processor until creamy and set aside.

next Cacao Fudge:

1/2 cup Raw Cacao Powder
1/2 cup Coconut Oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup grade B maple syrup

mix all together in bowl. Now take small luncheon size plate and rub with oil. Your first layer is the Cacao Fudge sauce ( use half of the sauce), then set in freezer for few mins to stiffen up. Next spread thick layer of the cashew butter and put back in freezer for few mins. Then pour rest of the fudge sauce over cashew butter. take some raw cashews and chop up and sprinkle over top ans put in freezer for 10-15 mins and it is ready.

Remember, this has to be kept in the refridge at all time because it is REAL and HEALTH and doesnt have fake stuff to keep it from melting. Looks like a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup! LOL
