My 16yo daughter has been raw since mid August. She has always been kinda "sickly" like me, always lots of problems with headaches etc. A little over a year ago she began having problems with racing heart and shortness of breath which we finally traced to sugar and gluten, so she has been gluten and sugar free for over a year. But she still had lots of problems with muscle pain and headaches, and one very worrying symptom: parts of her leg muscles would go numb quite often. It was usually the front thigh muscles, the quadriceps, an area that doesn't fall asleep normally like your foot can. It was worrying, and I actually was beginning to wonder abou MS, since that can go hand in hand with gluten intolerance.
Since going raw, I have asked her from time to time if she is noticing any difference, and most of the time she has said she doesn't notice any big changes yet. That was a bit disappointing. But then just yesterday she said that she suddenly realized that her legs are not going numb at all anymore! I think that is so amazing! Very happy for her, and I hope it is enough to keep her raw, as she said that symptom was scary for her.
