Hi Everyone,
I thought I would introduce myself. I have been lurking here for a week or two. I first heard about raw food back in September and did some green smoothies, which I really liked. I tried to go raw at that point but I wasn't doing something right and I was hungry all the time. So I went back to my SAD diet. I have been completely raw today and mostly raw a few days before that. My breakfast for these raw or almost raw days has been almond butter, ground flax and blueberries and that seems to keep me full feeling for quite a while.
Some background about me...I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to two children. My family eats the SAD diet but they get quite a few good things thrown in there too. I preserve much of our garden food, grind my wheat to make my own whole wheat bread, etc. I have not even told my husband I am doing this but I am sure he knows as there are lots of books about raw food sitting around. At this point, he would never consider doing what I am doing. I did a diet similar to this a couple of years ago but I found it much more difficult as I had to cut out all sweets and all fruit. I do not have a big weight problem, but a few pounds would be a bonus. :) Mostly just trying to eat a little healthier.
I am so happy to have found this group. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Amy
