Would you reckon these were truly raw? How do they get the "fruit" off of them???

If I've asked before - it's my Alzheimer's flaring up??

Or did I already blame that?

When my son was younger he thought alzheimers was spelled oldtimers...

For serious!

I live in a city where there are tons literally of almonds, walnuts, pecans and pistachios grown and harvested. They have little hulling plants that "process" the nuts from their hulls (fruit) and sometimes shell them too. They use machinery but no heat, we never smell nuts going by these 24 hour a day (in the fall) processing plants. Now the frozen foods plant, we know exactly when the broccoli or cauliflower is being frozen as the whole town smell like these stinky cooked veggies as they blanch them. So, my educated guess is that they're raw if you get them in the shell.

I get some actually raw almonds from a farmer here before they go to pasteurization, but not enough for a whole year of raw eating. So I supplement with some from a coop that says they're pasteurized according to the law but will still sprout. And they do. Whats with that? I mean I'm glad, but I don't understand.
