I ordered this from Navitas and I tried some and think that it is pretty awful and a hard taste to cover up. I had put it into a smoothie.
I am looking for recipe that does NOT have chocolate, nuts, and sesame seeds (tahini). I thought when I ordered it I was seeing it in a lot of recipes and now that I have it I don't know where I was looking.
Thanks for any ideas.

i'm interested to hear as well - though i know there's a cookie recipe or two in ani's new book that uses mesquite - but to me, mesquite just tastes like yucky carob.

I have been unable to find mesquite in my local community!
I bought a bottle of mesquite, which seemed to be liquid smoke. I haven't actually used it yet, but it seems very unraw and toxic!
Any thoughts? Is mesquite supposed to be a powder?

A while back Rawstrength posted her recipe for barbecue sauce here (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=45373&highlight=barbecue+sauce). I made it using mesquite and it's good.

Thanks for the response. Hmm, what to do with a bottle of liquid smoke now, lol?
