Hello all,
I work in a doctor's office family practice and we have been seeing a lot of sick people. It has been 6 years that I have worked there and your immune system does build up from it, but sometimes you can escape it. So here I am going on a second day of being sick and wondering if you guys have any suggestions to help out. I really do not have a appetite, but my plan is green smoothies and juicing.
Also I have been falling off the wagon lately and being sick like this motivates me to stay on the wagon consisitantly so I can be healthier. I hardly ever get sick and I do not like this.

I'm not a guy, yet, here's my response to the question ~
What is "sick" to you?
If you don't have an appetite, don't eat. Give your body a chance to cleanse. Plain water or water with lemon juice.
We're the only animal on the planet that "fasts" when not ill or eats when ill. We're weird.

Have to agree with Revvell. Listen to what your body wants. If it wants rest - then do so. Water. Drink water if nothing else...flushes gunk out of your system...

like revvell said
- water / water with lemon
- liquid fast . eliminating solids opens up cleansing channels so body can flush out all the germs and pools of waste matter pollution germs are existing off of , thats how people like raw foodist norman walker put it
- if want juices , but no smoothies
- i like running echinacea tea thru the system during cold season ,
celestial seasons makes a mix i like with licorice and mint added to flavor

I was dreadfully sick last June. My daughter had it before me and she had problems because her electrolytes got depleted. I kept mine up with coconut water, pinches of salt, and apple/celery juice.

My daughter and I were mostly raw until about 1 week ago. She has been sick for 2 weeks now and I for 1 week. I have a really awful cold and went to the Dr. 3x. Okay that is about 3x as many as I have gone in 40 yrs to the Dr. for a cold. It has been really bad. I must say though that once I was sick, I was wanting more hot soups. It is a kind of soothing that I have not found with raw soups.
It kind of makes me question the raw food thing. Am I getting enough of what I needed to prevent this sort of thing in the first place...or at least not be as bad as it has been. OMG!! I am still not over it either. I don't know the last time that I was this sick. It must be years. I think that is also harder having a sick little one to care for as well and not being able to just curl up in bed and tend to my own needs.
Hoping to get back on the wagon again, but wondering if this is an anomaly or if I need to add more of something to raw food diet of ours.

thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am actually finally starting to feel better today. One thing being sick like that makes me motivated to make sure I eat healthy and stay on track.
I have been going back and forth with eating this way-which is actually driving me nuts. I feel if I would of been eating consistantly healthy my immune system would of been stronger and eventhough I am constantly around sick people I wouldn't of got sick. I also know not to beat myself up and dust off and move off, but something like this motives you to do better.

Babeak, I think the H1N1 is an unknown quantity. I got it four weeks ago and was barely even sick. Just in bed for one day, went right back to work, etc. someone else I know, who "never gets sick" and was not in a high risk group, has been in the ICU on a respirator for four weeks now. His wife got really sick but recovered at home. His 10yo daughter just got symptoms like a bad cold. It is so unpredictable how your body will respond to this virus. But certainly raw was not "to blame" for you to be so sick. That just isn't even logical. Raw food is the best for your immunity.

OOOO and if I had any symptoms, I would think myself totally well. I would not say I am sick. What I focus on grows.
