Hi all! I am interested in the Raw Food diet. I have been lurking arund this site, reading posts, recipes, and it sounds like something I'd like to try. I have been vegan for a couple years and love it, but I have never tried the raw food diet. How do you all like it compared to your past diet? Is it difficult to eat out? I know that I will feel better with this diet, wil I loose weight as well? Thanks!

Welcome! It is nothing like any past diet, it is a Live-it! It works so well for any kind of health or weight problem. Yes, it can be hard to eat out, but there are bunches of threads with suggestions for handling that. Unless you eat out every meal, it is certainly do-able. Good luck!

You are in for an amazing ride! It is unlike any eating plan you have ever done. Simply eat one raw food at a time, adding more and more raw as you go, learn and absorb it all, and JUST YOU WAIT.

RAW RAWKS!

JOYFULLY RAW FOR TWO YEARS, BETTE

Hi "newrawfoodie"!

I've been raw for a year now and have found it to be much easier than just vegan, oddly! I think the reason is that it's so FUN and I don't feel like I'm giving up things. When I went vegan, I felt huge restrictions on me. I did it, but it took discipline. (and I'd often see reminders about foods I wasn't "allowed" to eat). The shift to raw has been totally different. It's about making fun positive choices, getting excited about the creative wonderful things you can do with raw food. Trying new recipes and playing like a kid again in the kitchen. Excited about how I feel which makes me even more jazzed to keep eating raw. It's been a blast!
I agree with RawRawks: I recommend not pressuring yourself too much or trying to put a label on yourself....just start eating more raw and see what happens. See if it's fun, how you feel. Like most rest of us, you may feel yourself WANTING to be more and more raw (not forcing yourself). Or maybe not. It's your journey...will be interesting to hear what happens. Pls keep us posted! :)
