Going to dentist on Monday and am a lil nervous - will meditate to stay grounded, but getting freezing done after not even having an aspirin for 2 years and eating only raw vegan foods scares me - need to have procedure done: removal of mercury amalgam, but yikes!
any experiences to share? or alternatives I can think of....not brave enough to do it sans freezing yet I'm afraid
pitaya : )

I'm not sure how long it's been since you have been to the dentist, but my last experience was so much better than all the rest. They now paint some numbing stuff onto the gum first, so then you don't even feel the shot at all. Also, ask if they do digital xrays. Much less radiation exposure that way. I haven't been to the dentist since going raw, but my daughter has, and the dentist told her she had almost NO plaque, and her gums looked great.
Also, be aware that having mercury removed will temporarily raise your mercury exposure. Cilantro can help remove the excess mercury. After I had my last filling out, I made a cilantro pesto and ate it every day for a week or so, 1/2 cup a day. The tooth before that, I did not do this and got very ill.
If you can find a dentist certified in the Huggins procedure for removing mercury fillings, all the better. There was not one anywhere near us, so I had to take my chances. But you can read up on the Huggins procedure and ask your dentist to have continuous suction and a dental dam and other precaustions. http://www.hugginsappliedhealing.com/alliancedentist.php

thanks katchmoleen! been to dentist recently but havent needed freezing since long before going raw - it's not so much about feeling pain, what im buying into is fear about the effects of drugs on me more than anything - my reaction to them- my father had heart attack in dentist's chair so im trying to sort quiet from the noise before i go in if you know what i mean?
and also deciding if i need anesthesia at all - even the 'natural kind'
thanks for cilantro tip, im definitely doing that!!
thanks and blessings to u rawrawks : )
