This seems like a silly question but oh well =] Been 100% raw for 3 days and loving it. But we bought some pumpkins to carve for halloween, and I don't want the seeds to go to waste! I've eaten raw pumpkin seeds before that I bought at a health food store, but I'm wondering if I just save some seeds, soak them in a little water to clean them, are they ok to eat that way? They look different than the ones I've eaten before. Thanks for the advice!

I would assume they would be OK. Though I've only eaten the seeds I've bought at the store. The seeds inside the pumpkin do look different though I don't know why.
Maybe clean them and try some.

I just cleaned some and put them in the dehydrator. I'll let you know how they turn out.
In fact it's my first time ever cleaning and using a fresh pumpkin. How did I get to be 58 without cleaning a pumpkin?I guess the can was much easier. :)

In my experiance with my jack-o-lantern pumpkin seeds......I have found that the white seed is a shell which encloses a greenish type seed inside, like the kind in the stores... but who wants to sit and peel white shells off of pumpkin seeds all day??? I'd rather be picnicking over at Aleeshas party thread.
