Has anyone converted their stove into an additional chopping block ? If, so what method did you use ? Is your chopping block stable or does it move ?
Did you cover the burners with birch, bamboo/ other types of wood ?
And, if you have one can you please upload a pic. ?
My bf and I are trying to convert our stove top into addt'l. space and although we've both wathched a youtube video on this would love some advice on what works or doesn't ?
P.S.
We are also looking for a knife friendly material.

Mine is covered with a Piece of Melamine, nothing Permanent. I take the eyes off so they will not be accidently turned on. I have a Dacor Pro. Stove.

Mine is glass flat top so I use it as counter. I have a cutting board topped rolling island.

I have a smooth top also, and I have two huge cutting boards on it. I cover the knobs and oven controls with masking tape. I use my oven for storage. I do cook SAD some for a non-raw husband, so I need the reminder not to turn the oven on without checking!

That's my fervent prayer, but he's showing no inclination thus far. But the longer I stay raw the less tempted I am by his food. I am currently un-cooking my way through every recipe in Alissa's book (see the thread Alissa and Annie) and the yummy food is really a big help!
