Hi all,
6 weeks in and I am feeling great. After much research and soul searching, I decided to give RAW food a fair chance. Meat and potatoes have been replaced with fruits, vegetables and some really cool culinary creations. My diet is quickly evolving into a lifestyle. A few folks have asked me if I have lost weight. I have, but the scale can lie. I'll let you be the judge! The first 2 shots are me pre- Raw earlier this summer. The last 3 are yesterday. Thanks to all contributers for sharing their successes. My motivation is increasing daily!

SW 204 lbs Sept 09
CW 185 lbs Oct 23-09
GW 170 lbs + abs on my birthday!

Thank you for your support. A few kind words really do encourage me to continue on. It took a little time to actually get the nerve to post these pictures to the world but it does give me a sense of accountability. I look forward to helping others find the benefits of RAW as I get more and more comfortable with it. See ya soon!

Yeah you go bro!

It's always good to see other guys appreciating natural foods. Some of my friends and family are so hardheaded about their protein shakes and eggs/bacon ROOOOARRR ya know the spiel. haha.

Anyway, be glad now. And be glad when that 6 is 12 weeks, then 24 weeks, then 48 weeks... and then 3 years down the line we can all look back at ourselves and see the remarkable change and feel, well.... ALIVE!
If it weren't for the fact that I loooove eating and living this way, all I would need is just that thought to keep me focused, through all ups and downs in life.

Nice! Thanks for posting! All the guys that lurk this forum maybe now will feel motivated to jump on the Raw food bus and join in living healthy!

It does prove how quickly our bodies will forgive and start to live; in spit of years of abuse, unlike fueling a gas motor with diesel - that machine would no longer be able to function.

Please contine to post and be an inspiration to others.

You go guy!

Indeed, you look happier. And you now have the guts to take the shirt off, lol.
You have great looking muscles there.

I'll show my husband about your progress. I hope he'd end up with those abs too!

I would love to hear more of your experinces.
My husband went raw with me but lost 30 pounds in the first 3 weeks and also some hard earned muscle. (did not have the weight to loose really except some around the waist)
Anyway, he gave up. Now he eats pretty well, but would like to be more raw.
Tell us more! Update time! :)

Hi Blessing,
To date I have not solely juiced or fasted. I may try it down the road. As often as possible, I begin the day with fresh homemade juice or a green smoothie from the blender. Nothing starts me off better!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I will post updated pics and bio over the holidays. ;)

Happy New Year!:p
Still here and still mostly Raw. OK, 80 -90% Raw, I still have room to grow. 15 months have passed and I am as committed as ever. I have found challenges with time and variety but continue to do what I can to remain RAW. Breakfast and lunches are a breeze, interesting dinners are my toughest task. I have now recruited (by example) about 5 family members, 2 coworkers and several curious friends into the world of RAW.
I dropped down to 168 pounds when I first went RAW. Felt weak, so I added 10 back. I'm now 178. Plan to go back to 168 by June, this time slowly through fitness and higher Raw content.
This will be a great year and hope to learn and share more with y'all. Peace!
Have my 1st batch of Raw ice cream in the freezer as of 5 minutes ago.
Thanks to all for the support. Pardon the self portraits!

Congratulations, you are doing wonderful.

What is your typical journey to do raw. Meaning, what raw food you do? Do you do weight training also?

Thank you for sharing, you must be proud of yourself because it is a great accomplishment

I have always loved fruit and vegetables so eating less cooked is simple. I absolutely love kale and spinach and pineapple. They are in my daily green smoothie with whatever fruit I can get my hands on.
I literally just fill my lunch bag with 3 or 4 fruits, a salad composed of at least 5 ingredients and a side of raw nuts. Macadamia, pistachio pumpkin seed, hemp are great as is our homemade granola.
Dinners are not so easy. I haven't perfected a great wrap yet, so we often us Ezekiel sprouted wraps. Not totally raw, but I can fill it with sprouts, mushrooms, lettuce peppers etc.
Wherever possible we create raw dishes on the weekends and eat them through the week.
We make a raw lasagna every 2 weeks and a brussels sprout salad that is incredible.
We do cheat and have the occasional veggie pizza with everything under the sun with goat mozza cheese.
I have a grater to make spaghetti like noodles with zucchini. We'll make raw tomato sauce for that.I found a source for jicama here so we do several non potato salads and soaked rice salads.
Aside from that, I just mix whatever veggies we have and eat till I'm full.......not as beautiful as many books out there.
Did have a great bean salad that almost killed me. We soaked kidney beans and tried them raw with other beans ........TOXIC! Don't try that one!
I appreciate the support, Take care, Dave
PS..How are you doing with this?
