I just bought these and never had them before. I have to work up the courage to try them. :)
They were never available in my store. I kept a lookout out for them until I found them just now.
Does anyone have a yummy recipe for Black Mission Figs?

I do have a recipe, but I'll warn you now it's a little complex:

Take stem off fig. Pop fig in mouth. Chew it 'n stuff. Enjoy.

It takes a few tries to get the recipe exactly right but it's worth it.

Very funny you guys! I love really simple recipes! :)
I''m gonna have to try this. :D

Maybe I can make some kind of pudding with dates and carob powder. I'll have to see how it'll turn out.

Alissa's book has a great chocolate cake recipe that is based on dried black figs. I am assuming you meant dried, though...there is no way I would "waste" fresh yummy figs on anything other than the recipe above! They are especially good warm from the tree, so definitely do not refrigerate before eating. Since other people like them with various cheeses, I suppose you could eat them with a nice raw cheese if you're into making that. The only time i tried it totally went bad on me. OK now I am seeing a salad involving figs and walnuts would be nice. I just don't usually plan my meals very well!

Fig RAWnewtons....

Make a basic almond piecrust for the dough. 2 cups almonds that have been soaked. Drain and blend untill the consistency of flour dough. Make squares.

Blend the fresh figs. Spread on half the dough. fold the other half over the filling. Refrigerate, cut, and eat. Or dehydrate before eating.

Hey, I did try the simple and yet complex recipe. MMMmmm! Good!! :)
I took the rest and made pudding out of it. It is very crunchy with the tiny seeds. It would have been better with added crumbled nuts into it, so it can have the full effect of the crunchy texture!! The pudding is really good served cold right out of the fridge!!
Next time, I will try all the recipes above me. Thanks!!
If I do come with something spectacular for figs, I'll let you guys know for sure!!

I made some fig RAWtons too that were delish... Coconut flake ground fine and mixed with dates and vanilla, salt, spices, then shaped into baby pie tarts (dehydrate or don't, good either way). For filling I mixed figs with lemon juice, then filled the baby tart shells with it. I've also mixed dates with the fig filling for super sweet version, and blended strawberries with honey and psyllium for strawberry RAWtons.

So good I may go make some later! :D
