Do you like sprouted beans? What kind to you use?
I am eating cooked beans at the moment but think it's time to get off that and try sprouted. For some reason sprouted beans don't look "good" to me. I think they are important to a balanced diet though.
I'm having a hard time getting my mind around sprouting food then eating it. Anyone else having the same issues?
Thanks for any input.

No

I don't.
I think they are important to a balanced diet though. I don't agree. If I were eating cooked food, I'd eat beans. Since I'm not, I don't. I see no reason for them whatsoever.

hi there...
yes i like sprouted beans.....the most kind of sprouted beans i use is mung bean, however alfalfa is also quite common.A lot of beans and seeds can be sprouted but mung beans are the ones you usually find in chinese meals.....

I enjoy mung beans but that's about it. I have yet to have much luck with sprouting. And for me - beans are a flavor AND texture thing. They don't fit very well for me trying raw :(

Alfalfa is a seed, not a bean. Big difference.

Be careful, some beans are poisonous if eaten raw such kidney bean/lima
Chick peas/lentilles seems fine to eat raw and sprouted.

Love, love, love sprouted beans. My favorite is the San Francisco mix sold by the sproutpeople (www.sproutpeople.com). I always have a container sprouting and another already sprouted in the fridge. I also sprout lentils and mung beans by themselves for Alissa's mock tuna salad.

Garbanzos for raw hummus and lentils for all kinds of things, e.g., Alissa's BBQ chicken wings!
