Oh my god, I just got my Excalibur 3900 a few hours ago! I wasn't really thinking about making a thread just about that lol but I had to say something about all those rumors that 9 trays are really noisy etc

Since I had a few kales left in my fridge I decided to make kale chips!
I won't lie, I was really scared to turn on the excalibur, because of all those rumors, hoping that i didn't make a big mistake by getting a 9 trays!
So here I am turning on the excalibur and expecting to hear a vacuum cleaner noise or something terrible that will give me nightmares! ( I live in a small studio, now you understand my fear :p)
What a surprise to hear a really smooth and gentle noise coming out of the machine! I was so relieved and started laughing in my kitchen like a crazy girl
So please do not believe those rumors about 9 trays being noisy, they do make noise I won't deny that but you can barely hear it if you're not right next to it in the kitchen (I believe my pc is more noisy!!!:D)
Oh and I must add that 9 trays are the way to go, I had to use 3 trays for my kale chips and i'm using 3 more for my granola bars! No more need to worry about space, + you get more for your money!
So that's my review for the excalibur! Hope this helps!;)

congrats! You'll love it! Mine is humming right now with buckwheat crispies in it! The excalibur is so versatile. You can actually fit a 1/2 sheet pan in the bottom...I just realized that!

Ohhh ~ congratulations on your new Excalibur! I remember getting mine, so much fun!

I just dehydrated some mushroom stems and pesto mushrooms today - yummy! (Thank you Alissa!)

I have never minded the "noise" of the Excalibur - it's just a background sound to me.

Enjoy your Excalibur! *Ü*

I do find the noise annoying when I'm trying to sleep....I can here it upstairs in my room:eek:

But it essentially is just a wee bit louder than a white noise machine, used to mask other annoyers.....

And of course, it's worth it!

But I'm going to have to bring mine to my borther's girlfriend's house for Thx. Would have appreciated having the smaller one for that.....
