I don't know how I got so lucky, but my boyfriend built a raw food kitchen for me this weekend. It's so beautiful. I'm thinking I may even teach classes in my home with this set up. He got the wood from Ikea in the salvaged area. It is butcher block and usually expensive. It cost about $150 to build it. I thought I would post it on here to give you some ideas.

Wow! This is amazing :D
It looks so great and ready for those classes, you should definitely teach at home!

And that for $150... cooked people don't know what they're missing ;)
If other people say once more that living raw is so expensive, I will remind them of a beautiful kitchen with none of the microwave/stove/oven appliances :)

What a beautiful raw kitchen! Your boyfriend did an excellent job ~ classes in your kitchen would be perfect, wouldn't they? I love all the nice large work surfaces - and the nice unit holding your dehydrator(s)(?). You even have nice bins for your produce. Loverly! *Ü*

Aww. Thanks for the positive feedback. I just read your comments to him and it made his day.

I'm so excited to have some room to prepare meals. We just moved a little over a month ago from a 1 bed condo to a 4 bed house. I know big improvement. I finally have a yard which I haven't had since I moved out of the parents over 18 years ago. The raw kitchen is a major bonus.

I also attached another site I came across recently of another kitchen.

Enjoy!!

Your kitchen looks chill, it comes as a bit of inspiration to make my own kitchen, and my whole house at that, a little more organized and pleasant to be in.

Solar,

I'm assuming there is a fridge in there I can't see??

And re: the bf.....does he have a brother, or a very young uncle of the same ilk?

Actually my raw kitchen is located in the dining area. We have a regular kitchen with a fridge and such. The cool thing is we can take it with us when we move. The contraption you see over to the side is an additional Freezer for all of our fruit.

As for a brother, nope sorry. If you are looking for someone into raw foods, I would check out meetup.com for potlucks. You never know : )

Yes I know he is a keeper : ) I met him 18 years ago and have pretty much been together ever since. There were a couple years apart, then we reunited after running into each other. He's come a long way with his diet. When we started dating again he was barbequeing almost every night or making a microwave dinner. Now he doesn't eat any meat except for chicken maybe once a week or so. It just took me educating him on the food supply. I also started taking him to meet-ups and we went to the Raw spirit festival this June in santa barabara. For those of you who's parnter isn't on board yet, don't worry, they eventually come around. It took my parents almost 4 years to finally start doing the smoothies.

I was going to ask if your dear boyfriend has started eating RAW foods (at least partially) now because he just glows! Very handsome, and what a lovely heart to do that for you. :)

And thank you for sharing pictures!!! Now I have pictures to show my fiance so he can help me create MY Raw Kitchen in my new house! I've been planning on asking the landlord to take out the Stove so I can put a wooden cutting/preparation table there. :D

What a BEAUTIFUL kitchen!

That's so awesome! :) I'm so happy for you! :) Yep, I found leading by example the best way to go. Now hubby, who wanted nothing to do w/raw at the beginning, is educating his Army buds about what they're putting into their mouths. Cracks me up each time he tells me about it. ;)

Good to see you too! Been mega-busy, but try to pop in when I can. With 3 kids & 7 animals, it's become the Zoo Pt. 2 here. ;)

Yes, He has come a long way. Definately lost some weight around the mid section and Chin especially.

Glad the pics have inspired you. One thing you can definately do now is maybe hange some shelves for supplies. I attached a site on the first page of another kitchen. There is even a video of how they built it.

That is simply awesome!!! A lovely uplifting room!

What a wonderman you have there! Talented and full of heart!

GreenWoman ~ You could put some hearty cutting boards on top of the stove. Or if it's too tall perhaps place a piece of plywood or remnant (on the cheap!) of countertop on the stove to use as more counter space or a dehydrator area.

Waited 10 years to get my dream kitchen and then 2 years after getting it went RAW. One of life's little ironies . Now I'm dreaming of an Excalibur dehydrator :D! The rest of the fam isn't RAW so I have to keep the stove in working order.

Congratulations Solarliving! When is the kitchen warming party?
