OK I was looking at the photos only discussion and saw a few pics of sushi. I've always wanted to try sushi, so I think I may go get the stuff tonight to make this (if my hubby agrees to it that is) What all do I need, and how do I do the rice? I'm really looking forward to something a little different from my usual food here...................

I made "raw sushi" last night and used a basic recipe.

I made a pate out of soaked almonds, carrots, celery, cilantro, ginger and lemon juice. Spread that on a nori roll. Topped with green onion sprouts, tomato and romaine lettuce. Roll, cut and enjoy.

Alissa has one in her book that's good also... It's made with Califlower "Rice"...

Here's the one from RAW Food Real World's book. The "Rice" is made with Jicama and Pine Nuts and it's SOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! :

I don't use rice or try to imitate it. My favorite fillings are Alissa's mock salmon pate and Ani Phyo's ginger almond pate. Then I load in the avo, sprouts , grated carrots, etc... (they are both in this pic). Make some wasabi paste, have some nama shoyu on hand and you're in business!
To live for!

Oh YUM those look so awesome! I can't WAIT for my book to arrive so that I can read it and take notes and make up my first RAW shopping list to make me some sushi. I'll make up enough to see if I like it, then if I do I'll make up a HUGE amount and pop in the fridge to grab a few pieces when I want some. (I'm used to plain ole fruit and veggie plates, fresh made juices, and salads so I'm in for quite an experience with some of the recipes I'm about to get I think)
