Hey all,

I got a severe sore throat on Friday and through the weekend. Finally that is over and now I have lots of congestion and mucus in my nose/sinus. In the morning, silly putty is coming out...(sorry for the TMI)

I have trouble with my ears when flying anyway, and a history of always getting ear infections when my sinus get infected, although so far I've avoided that.

If I can't get this under control by Thursday early AM, I'm going to have to take sudafed or something prior to the flight.

I haven't taken any meds for over 6 months now, and I really don't want to go back down that route.

I've heard figs are anti-mucus, so eating those.

Any suggestions?

Get you some GSE. Dilute it muchly, then snort it. It's a natural anti-biotic with no side effects. Gargle and spit. Remember to dilute! 1-3 drops for a few ounces of water.

I use it in my bath as well.

Enjoy your flight.

Load up on citrus IMO. Fruit is very cleansing in general too.

Grapefruit Seed Extract. Health food store. Expensive but lasts forever! Get the drops, not the tabs.

Have you tried oil pulling!?! It's a FABULOUS way to get it all moving out... Info here (http://whereiseva.com/2008/06/03/oil-pulling-how-and-why/)- cheesy, but useful :).

I've heard watermelon is great for breaking up mucous.
