Yes, beans are raw ~ until they're cooked. Personally, I don't care for them sprouted so, I don't bother, plus, I understand many are poisonous even sprouted.
Might do a google search on them and also, if you don't have it, pick up Alissa's book and see what she says about sprouting ~ what to sprout, how long, etc.

I always have jars of sprouts of different varieties on the go all of the time. To me chick peas are really good sprouted. If you do not care for them after sprouting you can always make humus with them.
Take care, Paul Le May.

I love chickpeas sprouted. The rough skin that encloses the chickpea can be unpalatable so sometimes I remove it but that is rather time consuming.

Eeeeuwww! *wrinkles nose* I have yet to have a good raw/sprouted bean hummus. Rather make it with zucchini. Easier and tastier. :) Have you found a good recipe Paul?

Hi Revvell;
Yes I have a few recipes that I make quite often. Maybe my taste buds are out of adjustment. I first learned how to make humus with cooked chick peas many years ago and adapted the recipe and uncooked version.
Take care, Paul Le May.
