I bought some of these and I don't know if they need to be soaked. Anybody out there know if they have those enzyme inhibitors in them?
Thanks
Anita

Hi! I have gotten them and just ate them as is. You could soak a couple and see how they are...

I tried some, too. The bag says "For maximum bio-availibility soak these precious nutz overnight & rinse and sprout in the dark for 1-2 days."

I didn't like them soaked so I dryed them in the dehydrator. They were softer, and lost some of that raw, starchy flavor, but they also lost most of the peanuty flavor. I'm using the rest of the bag unsoaked.

I'd say it is worth buying a pound just to say you tried them. The peanut flavor is there and it is nice to have a little variety. I ate a bunch in the beginning because of the novelty. Now I'm treating them as precious nutz and only eating a few occasionally. They were $18.99 a pound and I'd rather eat cashews anyway!

mmmm i do love my cashews. i'll have to see if i can get there here in canada. having stuff shipped from the states costs waaaaaay too much to make it worthwhile.

I got mine from Natural Zing.
If you like peanuts you'll like 'em. Strange though, after eating some I had this desire to find a vine and swing from tree to tree yelling, "ahhhhhhh ihhhhhhh ahhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhh!"

No silly! The loin cloth got hooked on the vine and, well, you get the picture! LOL! So not only do the Jungle Peanuts taste good, but they are liberating too!

Just a quick update. I found out that yes, they should be soaked. Today I made a peanut sauce with them to dip my spring rolls into, and it was soooo good.

One of the main benefits of jungle peanuts is that you get that peanut taste for certain recipes, but there is no aflotoxin like on regular peanuts.
