Hello all,
Hey, my vitamix container has this film on it that I just can not get off. I wash it by hand and have tried and tried and no luck.

Hey! Mine has become not as clear over the years too. Here's what I do. Fill it up and add a little dish detergent and let it run. MAKE SURE LID IS ON TIGHT! I let it run for a good while. Another thing I have used is water and WHITE (clear) vinegar and let it run for a good while. I don't think mine will ever get "clear" like when it was new. I don't think it's a film as much as wear and tear...i.e.nuts or ice marring it...

Yes. You have to accept that it will never be new again and just love it anyway.

Ya mine's starting to get like that too.
To clean the vitamix I rinse out everything that was it in to start sometimes I scrub it.
Fill 1/4 of hot water with dish detergent and let it run, rinse out.

Same here...but I have a K-tec (love love love it). I recently scrubbed it w/ baking soda and vinegar...it helped a lot but not in the corners. I just figured I should live w/ it. I've even tried using softscrub on it...since it's obviously a film (I can scrape it off w/ my fingernail). But nothing seems to work that great.

I just read somewhere that someone cleaned up an old Champion juicer with denture cleaner so maybe that would work

I have a ton of that around right now for my invisalign trays! I'll try it!

The denture cleaner really didn't help. I put 3 tablets in and let it sit for about 45 min. I think what's worked best was a thick solution of vinegar/baking soda and scrub.

Rub some olive oil into the stained area and let it sit overnight before washing off.

When mine was newer I tried cleaning it with a scrubbing sponge. Big mistake. Made the filmy look worse. Now it has sponge scratches. Oh well!
