Hi,
My name is Amber and today I had my first raw food meal. I would like to try this out for 30 days but did not feel "full". Is this something that I will always feel or will I eventually have that "full" feeling? I am excited about this diet. I was a vegetarian for 2 years and just recently turned vegan but have not lost any weight and was starting to get discouraged. I was told that my negativity had alot to do with that. I would continue to tell myself when I woke up, during the day and before bed how disgusted I am with myself because I was so fat. I stressed myself out to the point of eating just to eat and just because I ate vegan food I did not eat the best food...alot of sugars and alot of white flour. I heard that the raw food diet would not only change how you look on the outside, but how you feel on the inside. I am not an extremely religious person but I do belive that eating the way God inteneded would have many benefits. So I feel that eating raw would be that next step to "eating God's way". In any case I am excited to try this out. I have tons of questions though. I will be posting my picture and as soon as i can figure this out i would like to start my diary to keep track of my progress. Sorry for rambling but I hope to get to talk to some of you.

Amber

Welcome Amber. That is my Granddaughters name.
Just eat until you are full. You will not have the same feeling of being as full as you use to because your body is satisfied and getting everything it needs with the raw foods. To me eating a lot of cooked until you feel like you are going to blow up isn't a true test of being full. With raw there is also no guilt. I like that!
Ask all the questions you want. :)

I'm fairly new to raw myself (since beginning of July)
The satisfied feeling on raw vs the "full" feeling on cooked are two different animals (no pun intended). You'll eventually be able to distinguish between the two. I'm gradually starting to sense that feeling. A light satisfied feeling, yet knowing that I really don't feel like eating more.

Welcome and congrats on starting raw~ *s* I am into my third week and there are some things to get used to...things that feel different. You should eat till you are satisfied, especially in the beginning.....then you will only have to listen to your own body signal when it's had enough~
Looking forward to reading your journal~ btw...I was not loosing anything on veg or vegan either.......this is entirely different~

Welcome to the forum Amber!
It wont be long until that "full" feeling a heavy, cooked meal used to give is not something you want. :)
Congratulations to you on making such a healthy choice for yourself.

Blessings~

Dear Amber, welcome!! I'm new here myself. Just getting started. Congratulations on taking steps to take care of yourself. I also wanted to say, be loving and kind to yourself. treat yourself gently. It has been my experience that I cannot do good things for myself out of self loathing. I have been on every diet out there almost. Started in my late teens when I was "fat" at 120 lbs. starved myself, etc. Only after I started eating health because I cared enough about myself to do so, did I lose any weight and keep it off. You are not disgusting!!! You are a wonderful child of the Creator, and deserve to be happy and healthy. The way to do that it with living, healthy foods and positive talk to yourself. I don't think you would tell someone else they were disgusting because they were overweight. You seem too sweet and loving for that. Come back often, the people here are wonderful and supportive. Eat all the healthy raw foods you want, til you are full, and ENJOY!!! Blessings and big ole hugs Earthmama
