Vitamix Whipped Ice Cream

No need for an ice cream maker if you have a Vitamix. Put a tiny bit of water in Vitamix, add frozen banana halves, start on variable 3 ¾ & slowly go bit faster as needed till it whips. You can either add in any extra ingredients to blend in with bananas or stir in separately.

I use the food processor and do not need to add water.

The point is to not need another appliance and at the same time make ice cream as good as an ice cream maker. It's just a tiny bit of water, not a big deal. I've always used a mini chopper for ice cream because it's simple to clean and small. But when the vitamix whips it, it's very simple to get all of it out and clean it. Not to mention the consistency is amazing.

I do mine in my Blend-tec, putting in about a cup of some sort of wet fruit first, then about 2-3x as much frozen banana chunks, along with about 1/4 cup each of raw cashews and unsweetened shredded coconut, and a dash of vanilla extract. So-o yummy - DH and I eat some of this almost every day! Who knew that one could eat "ice-cream" for a meal and still lose off of one's waist? Certainly not with SAD ice-cream - LOL!

Sport just like, totally owned you Dimond! Not at all, since this is about the Vitamix (or even the Blendtec) and how you can use one appliance for practically everything. Or how you just don't need an ice cream maker as I've seen many mention owning or wanting. It's about informing newbies too. Of course there are other appliances one can use, but that's a whole other thread. ;)
