I just started one week ago eating raw. Found this web site over the weekend and ordered Alissa's book. Spent 2 hours in a new whole foods store todayl I had so much fun shopping. I have been juicing mostly, but snacking on nuts and fruits. I can't believe how easy this is. I have been taking tylenol PM or benadryl for years to sleep. Since Thursday night, I have not taking any pill and am sleeping like a baby. I have also lost 2 pounds. I started this at 187 lbs. I quit smoking 6 months ago after 40 years and gained 20 lbs. I am 5'10 and would like to lose about 25-30 lbs. I am so excited about getting healthy. I have bad arthritis which is actually better in only one week.
Thank you all for the helpful unformation on this website.

Hi Rubyuyu in beautiful Tennessee!
Congrats on eating raw, quitting smoking (applause for you), improved arthritis and finding this website. I'm new here too, (lots of reading/not much posting so far) and I have learned so much already. Very smart people here!

I'm going to Whole Foods tomorrow ~ can't wait to see what raw goodies I find there. Keep us posted on how you're doing and welcome!

Hi Ruby, Welcome. You will love it here.
So many great people. Great support and encouragement.
I challenged myself to 2 weeks raw starting Aug 31....I am loving it so much....I am still
raw. I feel so good lost 12 lbs....although being healthy was my main objective, losing weight was a nice surprise.
My best,
Frannie

Hi rubyuyu!

Such a progress you have already made, wow! Congratulations of quitting smoking, I hear it is dreadfully difficult. You must feel so strong and wonderful having curbed the smokes :D.

Going raw will definitely help you on your quest to shedding excess pounds, it basically happens without doing putting much effort in, except of course, making the effort to stay raw. A raw diet on itself will help your body shed the pounds that don't belong. Unless of course you eat 12 avocado's and pounds of nuts a day, but that goes without saying ;)

Good luck on your further journey through health, and if you want, definitely keep us updated on the arthritis! I am very interested in healing occured through raw foods :D
