pumkin seeds

Hello

Sorry for the silly question but how would you eat pumpkin seeds straight from the pumkin. Also would you eat the whole pumkin seed with the shell on or take it off and if so how would you take it off.

not helpful for now, but if you are ever GROWING your own pumpkins, look for the seeds to plant that are called NAKED SEEDED VARIETIES. these are the ones that produce the pumpkin seeds you get in the store, that dont require shelling. just learned this this year. unfortunately SLUGS ate ALL my squash and pumpkin plants.

Evil slugs!

I coated the seeds from my lone surviving pumpkin (jackets on) with evoo, salt, papper, and a bit of cheyenne pepper.

Popped int he D for about an hour.

Was pretty good!

For DS who cares nothing for raw mind you, I used the bought pumpkin seeds, no jackets, evoo, soy sauce, and drops of liquid smoke and schezwan sauce. He loved them. I called it, 90% raw.
