hi, i've been trying to lose weight, but i just think i've been eating and drinking much too little ... or would one salad and max. one liter water per day be enough?
which veggies do you eat to get in your necessary calories how much food do you eat per day and how much do you drink? do you also use artificial vitamins?
thanx so much in advance

That sounds like much too little, imo. You need more food or your body will go into "starvation mode" and start hanging onto every speck of fat it can. Very counter-productive for weight loss, imo.

I'm also losing weight and I eat anything and everything that can be eaten raw. That includes nuts, coconut, avocado... if it's from nature, I have no problem putting it on my plate. That's my main "rule". The only real exception to that is oils and those, I limit severely (no real nutritional return for the calories invested). I did tracking about a month ago on nutritiondata.com and found that I'm slightly below my target calories, but my nutrients (the thing I pay attention to the most) were all quite high. That tells me that I'm losing weight in a very sane manner while giving my body what it needs to function well.

I don't own a scale, but I estimate that I've dropped a trouser size or two. My husband thinks I've lost more than that, but he has nothing to back that up with except for the fact that my clothes are starting to fit loosely on me. :D

I don't take vitamins except for B12 and I do try to get enough water in (not sure how much exactly because I don't measure). I also try to get some time in every day to play (notice I didn't say "exercise").

Sorry for the long post, but the thing I've figured out with raw is that you've got to eat and eat often. That's the only way your body will be able to find its balance and move towards that balance, weight and all.

I don't worry about counting anything. Do you have Alissa's book? It's all explained in there...

I eat raw food...all I want and need, still lose weight..no counting nothing or keeping track of nothing.

I have been eating raw for a little over a month. I used to be around 140 -145 pounds but now I'm 126 - 127. I've been losing 2 - 3 pounds a week. I'm 5'11" and don't need to lose any weight. I haven't been drinking much water (just one or two cups a day) since I haven't felt thirsty. I'm probably eating up to 1200 calories daily. I usually eat a few apples, bananas, kiwis, dates a lemon or lime, a few strawberries and other fruits, one or two salads with lemon or lime juice, chopped veggies, tomato, sunflower seeds, lots of pepper, and sometimes chopped strawberries or apple or hass avocado, a tablespoon of chia seeds in water, a quarter of a cup of walnuts or almonds, and sometimes a hass avocado each day. When will the weight stop dropping?

That's great ~ if you want to starve to death. My suggestion, focus on health and being fit. I work with people who have issues staying on a HEALTHY food program. If eliminating weight is what they want, my suggestion is be aware of your cravings ~ and, since you're depriving yourself of enough nutrients, there will definitely be some.

Be more aware of when, where, why and what you eat and eat raw, 100% organic RAW food when you're HUNGRY! The way you're going, when someone puts something not-so-healthy in front of you, you'll most likely not be able to resist because your body will recognize it as something it knows and devour it... then, your food program goes out the window.

As Lucy said ~ get Alissa's book and dvd. That's all you need to get a good jump on how to eat healthily AND eliminate excess weight.

Biggest suggestion from me ~ be prepared with raw food YOU like and you'll do fine.

RawVeggie, you are in my birthplace!! I love Berlin! Anyway, sounds like you're not eating nearly enough food and that will slow your metabolism - your body thinks it's starving to death. You have to eat enough food even if you need to lose weight. Say hi to Berlin for me.

I WISH I had your problem! I'm not 100% raw, but man oh man I haven't dropped a pound since being raw, instead I gained 10 pounds that have stuck with me since! Ah the vanity of being a woman.

Go eat! Raw food is TOO delicious!

Don't worry......a body has to be healthy to loose weight, your body is probably just working on other issues first!

******It definetly sounds like you aren't eating enough. Listen to your body & eat when it's hungry & you shouldn't have a problem.*******

I second this advise!!! Get Alissa's book - in my educated opinion, it is the BEST investment you will make in your Raw Food journey!!! :D

Smiling, have you tried GREEN SMOOTHIES yet? :D Also, maybe it's time for you to go 100% RAW for 30 days and see what your Amazing Body can do when you make that commitment!!!

Oh, I'm no noob to raw foods :D I was 100% for a good long period of time, things just changed and I have adapted a bit to fit with lifestyle. I've maintained the same weight if not lost a bit by switching from 100% to where I am now. I'll green a smoothie up for you today :D
