I am of the opinion that anything can be healed when the body gets the nutrients in needs over a period of time and begins to heal majorly.

are there any fruits/veg that are known for speeding up and help repair nerve damage or is it it just a case of eat a wide variety of raw foods and wait to see what happens?

Hi Cherry Chops,

Freshlight is right; every species on the planet fasts when not well; this is because what the organism needs to heal is simply time and energy, and processing food uses up to half of the body's energy. I've fasted for a week or more nearly forty times and have supervised more than 2000 water-only fasts. I've seen many, many miracles and am working on a book about them now. Find a place that you feel comfortable with and get yourself healthy. fast.

thank you for your replies. I do 1-2 day waterfasts when i can, but i have a physical job through out the week, so it isnt an option for me to do a longer one, although i am planning a juice fast/feast when i get a blender in a few months time. :)

Hi Cherry Chops,

Yes, you are right that you can't water-only fast while working. If you really want to get well as quickly as possible, take a few weeks off, find a suitable place for you, and watch your health soar.

Loren,

You are really pushing your water fasting... it isn't for everyone and everyone doesn't have to use water fasting to cure what ails them. This is a raw forum which is here to promote Alissa's raw live food eating philosophy... not to push fasting on everyone.

Hmmmm was she pushing fasting? or just telling the person advice from her experience in this...seems like she has alot. You are a big proponent of fasting as well....?

I love fasting... but I also believe that raw live foods does a great deal of healing on it's own. We don't have to fast to reap the benefits of our body's natural healing abilities. ;)

Folks, I've been all-raw 18 years and know that an optimal raw diet is best for the body. Like every other organism on the planet, our bodies are self-healing and when eating better, will definitely heal better.

But raw food -- or any diet -- doesn't heal us, the body does, and no matter how good the raw diet, processing any food requires a lot of the body's energy.

Every other species on the planet will lie down and fast when sick or badly-injured enough -- even though they're eating an optimal raw diet for their bodies all the time. This model -- nature -- is a pretty good. I'd say the best there is.

Over the 13+ years I've been supervising water-only fasts, I have worked with thousands of people from 31 countries, many of them raw foodists who didn't get the results they wanted while raw. I have nine clients here now, and 5 of them were already raw (and the other 4 will certainly be eating a much percentage of raw when they get home, if not 100%!)

This isn't about fasting versus raw diet; they're not mutually-exclusive. This is about trying to help raw foodists get much healthier much faster.

You can eat the best diet possible, but if your body isn't clean and efficient, that awesome diet won't have nearly the impact it could.

As rawrawks pointed out, I'm just sharing something that I Guarantee will not only help, but get anyone there faster than anything else. I wouldn't call that "pushing," and don't understand why my posts would be unwelcome.

And folks, if the only people welcome at the party already believe all the same stuff, you're not likely to learn much from them...

I totally hear you Loren. I was just attempting to point out (obviously not very well - sorry) that this forum is about raw live foods according to Alissa Cohen's philosophies. It's not about fasting, although she is kind enough to give us a fasting section - it's about raw live foods.

If someone was posting on this forum - promoting another type of raw food philosophy we (as moderators) would be removing their posts or editing them - because this forum is about assisting people who was support to follow what Alissa believes and promotes through her book and DVD. I don't make the rules... I just try to assist everyone to follow the ones set out for us.

So... sharing about fasting in the fasting section is cool... but promoting it in the other sections isn't necessarily what we want to do. ;)

Let me jump in as a moderator also. I totally agree with Aleesha. And from someone that DID heal themselves from two life-debilitating dis-eases - migraines and a non-functioning thyroid, I believe with all my soul that going 100% Raw healed me.

You are entitled to your opinion(s) and that's fine, but like Aleesha said, this is Alissa's forum and we are (trying) posting per her specifications.
