Hey all,

For some reason - been having a tough time with wanting non vegan food. I've been a vegetarian over 20 years - mostly towards vegan, very strict vegan about 10 years, and raw just 9 months.

Suddenly since raw, I sometimes feel like I want something like fish or eggs....what gives?

except for missing pizza as a vegan, I've never had too much trouble leaving those things behind.

Am I missing some nutrient or something? Is my body "processing" something that reminds it of those foods?

I am very confused about this......

No cravings for rice, tofu or soy milk though! my former staples of 22 years.

How would you have those foods if you were to eat them? Maybe what you are craving is what traditionally goes with those cooked foods rather than the foods themselves.

I can't recommend eating those non vegan, non raw foods as they are counter to the ideals of the raw way of eating.

Good luck interpreting your cravings.

Thanks Joya, but I am a committed vegan for moral issues, it is non-negotiable for me.......

although your point is well taken, maybe I need to up the sea-veggie and hemp seeds for the brain food aspect.....

i look at what is IN the foods i'm craving. are they high in iron, protein, vit c etc and then i eat something (or juice something) with the same qualities.

Excellent advise, Aleesha.... Strongly seconded! And I'm sure I'll need to be reminded of it myself soon, because I tend to crave salmon virtually NON-STOP.

I agree that you should look into what is in the items you are craving. But, also what are your other associations with that food? What do you think that food will make you feel other than full?
