I have high blood pressure and tomatos just raises it because I always want to add salt to make it edible for me.

Right now I am smoothie feast with a combination of fruit and veggies. I have some tomatos given to me. The idea of adding them with fruit seems unsavory.

Is there any fruit that taste good with tomatos for making smoothies?

Salt is your problem, then, not tomatoes. If you give your body time, your taste buds will eventually change...

tomato, curry or cayenne with a little celery (organic sodium (natural) which is good for you) and perhaps some garlic and ginger... all blended up together... mmm mmm gooooood

I Like tomatoes and strawberries together.
Or Mango strawberry with some tomatoe is good too.

Or a soup with tomatoes, some strawberries for sweetness, some red pepper and celery blended is really good.

Mmmmm I love tomatoes. I eat them like apples :D

if you have vine ripened tomatoes and you leave the stalk on til the very last minute before eating then you maximise the smell of tomato. So if you keep the top of the tomato close to your nose and eat like an apple, you may find it easier to transition away from salt.

First of all, tomatoes are fruit.

Second, and this is my understanding, it's regular table salt that is a problem (certainly the tomatoes aren't raising your blood pressure ~ it's up to you whether to add salt or not), not, say, pink Himalayan salt and you only need a touch.

Others have given some really good recipe ideas and there are many for sauces in Alissa's book. You can ALWAYS leave out the salt.

I use to think I didn't like tomatoes much, except in tomato-based meals like salsa, Italian food, etc. Now I can sit and eat them alone. They have a natural salt in them. Once you get used to eating raw, you will find yourself enjoying foods you never thought you could.

Meanwhile, mango and tomato blended are amazing. With garlic, even better. There's tons of recipes they can be used in.

How about a blender full of gazpacho? I just blend regular and sun-dried tomatoes, onion, garlic, sweet red pepper and cucumbers with some water and a little apple cider or red wine vinegar. You can add a few drops of hot sauce if you like it spicier. I serve this over diced avocado. Simple and tasty way to use up extra tomatoes.

I love Alissa's marina sauce, which uses sundried tomatoes. Can you dehydrate your tomatoes or sundry them and make her marinara? Nothing tops this sauce in my opinion, and even non raw folks love it on whole wheat pasta. (Including my 15 month old!)

I'm going to be using that on her lasagna next week. Having a Tweetup and offered to bring the food. Didn't bother telling them the lasagna will be raw.

I like making a smoothie using tomatoes, cilantro, and an avocado.
