Hi all,
Wondering if anyone is interested in opening a raw restaurant in Rochester, NY? I live here and can't afford to invest the money, but would be happy to invest time, manage the space, prep the food, sell food & retail, etc.
I'm posting this today because I saw the PERFECT - and I mean PERFECT space for a raw cafe. It is in the heart of our Public Market. The ad just came to me via a friend - the craigslist listing has photos and details.
I've been wanting to do this for some time now, so if any magical connector out there knows of the perfect match, please contact me!
We have NO raw cafe in Rochester, and people are asking for it all the time. We have just started to have some juice bars in the past year, but they are not in high traffic areas like this location is. There is also a set up for a teaching space in this very nice L-shaped kitchen.
I'm currently in Culinary School - yes, you heard right - it is NOT a raw experience - but I am getting all my certifications for food safety, purchasing, handling, and business in order so I can run a successful cafe. I do not want to be one of the long line of vegan restaurants that comes and goes because of poor business skills.
So if this interests you or you know someone who is interested in investing in a raw cafe or wants to open up another branch of a current raw restaurant and is looking for the right community, please let me know.
Here is the space:

What a lovely suggestion. Have you posted this in any other forums? Please feel free to email me directly if you would like some ideas on other places to post as well, just in case someone hasn't found this spot on the internet!

And seriously, the spot looks great. I wish I were in the position to make it happen!!

Thanks Eva & Care!

I'm sure the right doors will open when they are supposed to.

Y'know, it's funny, when I am not all raw I tend to drift away from this forum, and both of your posts remind me why I love being here - people are so supportive and positive. Being in a very non-raw community (physically), I forget how sweet people are when they are clear and raw. :D:D:D

Thanks, much.....

Saving out to a JPEG has no effect on the RAW file, so no need to make a copy. And whatch for my free JPEG extractor program so that you can have instant JPEGs from your RAWs.

Can anyone advise what resources are available in Rochester, NY for raw veg classes?

I understand Damaris Pinedo founded a meetup group at: http://www.meetup.com/Raw-Vegan-Foods/

and also Lauri Boone holds classes at Breathe in Pittsford: http://www.breatheyoga.com/pcms/February-Cooking-and-Nutrition-Classes-at-Breathe?f=blogEntry&blog_entry_id=12

I don't know if Karen Holmes is still doing anything with raw veg: http://karen.massagetherapy.com

or Anne Strauch:
