I've tried going raw several times since receiving Alissa's book 2 years ago. I was fairly successful this past spring and according to family, "looked 10 years younger! What have you been doing?" I can't say for sure what happened, but cooked food somehow snuck back into my diet. I'm not back were I started, but I am struggling. Now, my husband and I have booked a dream vacation to the Cook Islands this Christmas and I'm really hoping that this will help motivate me to stay on track. I'm high raw at the moment, just started running 3 days a week, and as of next week (after Thanksgiving and a camping trip), plan to go 100% and add some weight training.
Wish me luck! I will be coming here often for motivation.
Linda.

Hey Linda! Welcome! Stick with it. Each day. Don't look at the long term, but do each day and before you know it? You will be where you need to be. Weight-wise, health-wise, mental-state-wise.
It's a fun journey! And you KNOW how good it makes you feel!

Welcome !
Have you checked out Gorilla Food on Richards st ??
They are all raw vegan organic little cafe!
Also Radha does dinner wed-sat starting at 6pm and usually has 1 raw dish and a raw dessert!
We're in the lower mainland area and love to go to those places when we want to eat out!

Wonderful! I've been meaning to try Radha but I haven't heard of Gorilla Food. Thanks for the tip! Have you been there? Is it good? I'm trying to get my husband on-board with me - it would be easier if he could taste some satisfying food.

This morning I went to a market that's open only Saturdays 9-3 just off Willingdon Ave that has all organic produce for pretty good prices. Quite a bit of variety too.
http://ladybugorganics.com/ - delivers organic produce!

Thanks RawSar, I need to try that restaurant. And yes, I also go to the Organics place across from Costco off Willingdon. Great prices. Have you heard about Young Bros in the west end? I haven't tried them yet but supposed to be great for cheap organics.

Ya the prices are great and the variety is awesome!
No I havent heard of Young Bros. Where abouts in the west end are they? Is it similar to the organic place off willingdon (warehouse)? Or more like a grocery store?

Young Bros are on West Broadway. I haven't tried them yet, but learned of them through a co-worker. I just found this:

so maybe they aren't really organic, just cheap produce? worth a look if your in that area anyway.

Sounds like they have an organic section ( "limiting" ) but if I am in that area I'll check it out since its seems they have good prices! Thanks :)
