I never thought I'd be trying raw. It always seemed too extreme for me. I was drawn to raw initially because I wanted to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I noticed that I had more energy and felt better than I had in a long time. Then I became pregnant and returned to SAD because I was so nauseous the first few months. I've been experimenting with just eating raw food during the day and a cooked meal for dinner for the past month. I noticed how heavy I felt even though I didn't stuff myself at dinner. I bought Alissa's book and DVD recently and was struck by how enthusiastic she was. I watched the first DVD this past weekend and realized how easy it was to uncook. :) I decided then to go raw for the next 30 days. I just want to see if I notice a difference in how I feel. It's only 30 days, right? :D

I am a 40 year old married mother of a 3 yr old boy and a 10 week old girl and I want to have the energy to keep up with them. My mother-in-law is 20years my senior and fights her aches and pains every day. As much as I love her, I don't want to be that way. I'll be almost 60 when my kids graduate from high school and I want to be the vibrant person I see that other raw foodists are.

I haven't told my family because I know that I'll get the eyeroll and the lecture. I'd rather that they notice my glow and ask me what I'm doing differently. lol

So here I go....for the next 30 days nothing but raw food for me.

Hey! Welcome!! I totally understand regarding the mother-in-law... you see these people who are so unhealthy and hope you won't be there in 20 years. I am sooo thankful for the way I feel on raw and know that there is no chance I will feel less than stellar in 20 years.

You are so lucky that you have found a "diet" that will work to keep you young in body and heart. Welcome to the board! :)
