Under ripe avocado.. so you thought it was ready but its not. Surely I'm not the only one who does this? lol I've been known to be overly eager about finally getting to indulge in my favorite food BUT then come to find its not ready to eat yet. What DO you DO? Seriously.. these suckers cost $1 a peice...

oh and your question wasnt stupid and YES I have doen this. It is a delicate art to feeling the give on the outisde so as to know what the inside holds for ripeness.

lol Well I haven't managed to do it yet with the recent batch I bought but I've done it enough times I thought it would be good to have some kind of fix for when and if it happens again. I just love avocados SO much.. its hard to resist temptation. ;)

Anywho I was thinking.. what if you chopped up the unripened avocado and soaked it in something acidic like lemon juice or vinegar and then let that sit and whip it in the blender with olive oil to make a dressing maybe? *cringe* Okay maybe a bad idea.. if I had a dehydrator I'd be tempted to make chips from them or something. Pff.. I don't know.. lol :rolleyes:
