Hi,

I am currently Breastfeeding a 2 yro and I am trying to avoid nuts for her right now. However, I find myself that to get enough into my diet that I need to eat nuts. I don't know if that is just because I am BFing or and "excuse".

I have had some say eating seeds, but somehow I am not getting enough or those are not satisfying enough:
Chia, Hemp, pumpkin, flax and sunflower

I am also finding that I am kind of getting burned out on the taste of all of these seeds even though I love them.

One of the complaints about raw that I have personally encountered is not enough variety in taste. Everything is flax, cashew, etc. and has about the same taste.

Inspiration, suggestions? Starting to fall off the wagon more frequently these days.

Thanks

Maybe there are things that you have not tried.
I am just having breakfast.
It is 6 dessertspoons of sprouted dehydrate quinoa, 3 chopped golden kiwi and lots of soaked gogi berries. I am taking a handfull of chlorella tablets as well.
Not a nut or seed in sight.
I have not tried the sprouted buckwheat but lots of people here love it.

Great little topic.
And Nice work--thank you for sharing- for me this makes perfect sense though.

Well, as Vegan for Life is fond of saying...2 words ---green smoothies!! Vary the tastes as much as you like, and you never have to include a nit!

BJ--We do green smoothies EVERY Day. Most of the time fruit ones and sometimes savory. Sometimes green fruit smoothie for breakfast and savory for lunch!

Today we tried an arugula, pineapple, banana from VB's book and DD was in the process of spilling hers and I went to catch it an mine spilled as well....going way across the table hitting the patio windows. 2 spilled green smoothies. No worries though...a dough scraper is the best thing to pick up a green smoothie with and then put it back into the cup salvaging as much as possible.

I also tried a chia pudding with sunflower seeds substituted for cashew. Just not right, though I never made it with cashew. DD would not eat it and pretty much she will eat anything except for the stuff that I also think is bad. I am going to add raw chocolate to it and agave and then call it mine and hopefully that will make it palatable.

Sport--That is true! I am sure that there is a lot I have not tried. Though this summer I tried to span and sample everything. Definitely a lot of things improved with GS though. I did some sprouting, but to be honest with a 2 yro, it is another babysitting job. Once a day I can remember to change the water, but 3+....maybe not reliably. I would like to do some more sprouting. We do have buckwheat regularly, though I have not sprouted it yet, but want to....however, I have buckwheat soaking now for 2 days in the fridge rather than O/N because I have not had a chance to "deal" with it.
