I can never warm up enough. I can drink hot tea or hot miso and I only warm up for the first 10 minutes. After that I am cold again, even if I sit around in my home with a blanket.
Yes, I tried eating on some raw honey, but that works short term, too.

Yes being cold can be part of detox. Everytime I fast I get cold and I can not get warm. Some people are lucky and do not get it. I just wera extra socks and turn up the heat. I also use a hot water bottle and I use a sauna a lot. I hope it gets better for you.

Sometimes being Cold has to do with how much Body Fat you have. If you don't have very much you might experience being Cold often. Try adding Cayenne and Spices to your Food. And Move around as much as possible.

I was very cold the first winter that I was raw but I had lost weight and was too skinny as well so I do not know which caused it.
Have you lost weight.

I'm always cold, especially now. And i have a lot of body fat, still. I've lost 40 pounds, but there is plenty of body fat left, believe me, and i'm still cold. The only thing that helps me is to move around, but then as soon as i sit still i'm cold again. And we're talking 60 degrees!! I really hate cold weather, brrrrrrrrr.

I am the exact same way. I'm the person @ work with my winter jacket on & two pairs of socks while everyone else is in short sleeves & not wearing any socks.
I do think the amount of body fat has alot to do with it however some of the people I work with are thin too & they don't seem to be cold like me.
I think it's just somethin' we gotta deal with especially if your on the thinner side :)

I think that maybe our blood get thinner.
Having said that I do not think that I feel the cold now any more than SAD (I almost said normal) people.

I too am cold much of the time. I do the same as everyone else, MOVE and wear warm cloths - layers are my friends, herbal tea or hot water. I have a space heater under my desk at work too which helps.
Try the little things others do until you find a few that work for you - "bag of tools" thing. Good luck!

Me too!! i have a little space heater, everyone thinks i'm nuts! in the summer the AC makes me cold, in the winter, the heating isn't warm enough, so this thing is on year round.

HA - mine's on year-round too! Seems ridiculous, but so does needing sweaters and long-johns in the middle of summer! :D

HaHa! I love it! I use mine as much as I can until I sweat someone out & they tell me to turn it off!
Sometimes in the winter I wear 3 pairs of socks & leggings under my work pants!

Hi folks,
While fasting, your body temperature will generally drop. And given that most people are walking around with a permanent low-grade fever while eating cooked food, changing to raw will allow your body temperature to drop as well, which is actually an advantage if living in the tropics (our natural climate and the only place that we could actually live naked 12 months of the year,) but may not seem like one at first if living in temperate climes.
There are actually several factors affecting how you experience temperature. As has been said, body fat will help you keep warm and this is why arctic animals are always covered with a thick layer of blubber. But every study shows that with the exception of these animals who need their fat to stay warm, the leanest member of every species are almost always the healthiest (and this doesn't include anorexics and others who are literally starving themselves.)
As your body cleanses itself -- which is what it will do anytime we improve our diet enough to lighten the incoming load of toxins -- it begins to break down the sludge that you carry in your arteries. A US study performed several years ago found that the average 14 year old was roughly 40% occluded from a conventional diet. If you have been eating conventional food for more than 14 years it is safe to assume that you came to your improved diet with at least that much sludge in your own arteries. As your body begins to break this garbage down, your blood literally becomes thicker, impeding circulation, and you will temporarily feel colder.
Once the body has removed this garbage completely, your circulation will improve to the extent that you will find it easier to stay warm, not harder.
Several of my clients and I suffered from Reynaud's syndrome, with numb fingers and toes every time the temperature dropped. I suffered from 18 to 30 years of age until going raw and never suffered again. This is typical, though it must be pointed out that I was also fasting (water-only) which dramatically speeds up the cleansing process as well.
Incidentally, the conventional wisdom -- as is often the case -- is wrong about cayenne and ginger. These two substances are both toxic to the body and cause the body to temporarily speed up circulation when they enter the blood stream in an intelligent effort to eliminate them from the body as quickly as possible. Your temperature will go up while this elimination process is occurring, but will drop again as soon as the body has eliminated them. There's no need to take something toxic to get warmer when you can simply put on a(nother) sweater...or better yet, move to the tropics, your natural climate.

Another though is your greens! Do you rotate them often? At first I only used spinach and I was FREEZING all the time! I now switch my greens either every 3-4 days or every week. I still get cold easily, but my average body temperature has stabilized at a higher temperature. I'll root around the forum for it, there is an excellent post on how greens effect being cold...

I was always cold before I went raw.if you stop drinking hot things and go 100% raw you won't feel cold anymore,-that's what happened to me anyway. You won't need a heater anymore :)

I lost 4lbs within 24 hours of fasting, but I know it was excess water weight (since I was addicted to high sodium foods), plus elimination of waste since I took digestive and liver detox teas. I doubt it was real fat being burned off of me.

I am 100% raw. Just because something is "hot" doesn't mean it is at a boiling point. I don't boil my tea, because it makes it too black and taste burnt. Nor are you suppose to make miso soup hot, because the point of Miso is consume the living enzymes. If the soup gets too hot then you kill the enzymes. Japaense drink it warm, not hot.

As I mentioned above, this will change once your body is really clean and well-hydrated. Though you've obviously come a long way with your frequent juice fasts and raw diet, you could take it many, many levels higher with a long-enough, properly conducted water-only fast. Guaranteed.
