What do you do when...

Here are a list of things that (for me anyway) have been the demise of my raw food diet. When this stuff happens, how do you all deal with it? I'll list a few suggestions, but would like to hear from you all what you do when:

You only have $50 to spend on food for the week:
I try to only but what's on sale and the best with my spices to make it tates really, really good!!

When your ONLY organic whole foods market closes:
Cringe and buy what what's in the grocery stores

When co-workers keep bringing whole pizzas (or any kind of decadent food) to work for "Everyone":
Avoid the room the food is in!

Crave caffine/alcohol/pick you're favorite craving:
Make it unavailable by leaving the area...going for a walk, staying away from anything that triggers a craving, finding a viable substitute

Feeling like you're doing something "foolish" or extreme "just to loose weight":
Realizing nothing else has worked and knowing that if you don't do something to "reset" yourself in some way you may never get healthy again. And also realizing that this is no more "extreme" than eating the highly processed and extremely unhealthy food that is already being force upon us by the grocery industies anyway!!!

Well, this is totally me. It would seem that as if having an entire "chocolates" drawer at work wasn't enough...we have a "food day" every other week. I hate these. As I don't enjoy any of the food and don't want to shell out my hard earned cash to fill everyone else's tummy. So. I let everyone know...I'm not eating from the chocolate drawer and so...I'm not contributing to it. And I'll bring something raw in on food days.

As far as the lower budget goes, I'm right there with you. Not a lot of money to spend here either.

I find that I do best when I stay simple and I have to shop a bit more than some. I don't want anything to go to waste by going bad before I can get to it.

I think overcoming the struggle when people bring in your fav cooked foods around you is a matter of 1) already being full when it arrives, or 2) having a great raw snack on hand to offset the temptation.

It's not easy at first, but as the weeks progress the cooked food loses it's temptation all together. The great way you feel and look, along with your taste buds changing...make it easier than you think!

Stick with it...it gets easier and better. ;) Until it isn't a chore or a diet, but rather a fulfilling lifestyle.

Maybe you need to figure out whats acceptable to you out of the "stuff" that people and companies try to push on you and make choices about what is going to make the hand to mouth journey. Good luck.

These are my issues and my solutions...I was hoping to see other's here post their issues and their solutions. Sorry if my OP didn't make that clear. I'm just always iterested in seeing what others have to deal with and how they deal with it throughout the day in order to stay "clean and raw".

You crave a certain cooked or animal food:

Try to invent a raw alternative.

You get nothing but canned and processed food from the food pantry:

Pick dandelions from the yard, and if I have to eat the canned and processed food, start with the healthiest and move up to the garbage.

You do have some raw food, but your cooked/processed food selection is wider and more appealing:

Try my best to put the raw food together into an all-around appealing meal. Or just slap together the raw food in a non-appealing fashion, consider it medicine, and find some other thrill in life that's not tastebud related.
