Yesterday I was fine all day.. Just had green smoothies for bfast and lunch at work. Last night after dinner (salad) I got a stomach ache and coinciding upper back ache. Went for a walk and had the stomach ache the whole time.. Very achy.

Today same thing. Green smoothies for bfast and lunch at work, and was fine all day. Had a different salad at dinner and then after dinner the bad stomach ache and eventually upper back ache kicked in.. Went for a walk and had the ache the whole time and still have it in waves right now.

I've been raw over 5 weeks now and am dropping weight. I was 198 on the scale this morning.. (I usually check my weight once a week just to keep tabs and a week ago I was 202...) When I was raw last time in 2006, my weight leveled around 170/175 and I am much less muscular now...

Is it detox, or maybe salads just aren't agreeing with me right now? The one thing that was different both these last two nights was that my wife made the salads for me, and she added some apple to the salads both nights, whereas when I make salads I won't add any (sweet) fruit to keep them more properly combined. I just have never been that sensitive to improper combination's (at least not where I'd get a stomach aches this bad), so it would surprise me if that's what caused these stomach aches..

I have never had stomach aches, even when in detox, so I am thinking along your lines that it might be digesting the salad. What greens are you having? Also, I only eat fruit in the morning and then never later in the day. The prevailing thought is that when you eat fruit with other things it ferments in your stomach, however, that doesn't hold true if you eat fruit with greens because they are supposed to digest in the same time frame. What about trying a green smoothie for dinner and see if blending the greens helps your digestion? Hope you figure it out, because it does sound rather unusual.

I was suffering in bed until after midnight before the pain started to subside. My wife looked up gallstones because she had gallstone attacks years ago before she had her gallbladder removed and the symptoms I was describing sounded familiar to her. It does seem like I match the symptoms and it's an increased likelihood for people who lose weight quickly...

Try adding some lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to your salad to help your digestion.

Drink ginger and/or lemon tea and get a colonic!
