Raw on TV

I'm sitting here watching HOUSE and they had a baby come in with pnemonia. The parents were raising it on a raw diet and the hospital called the police and they took the child in custody. I've heard of this happening. They said it was child abuse and endangerment. Any thoughst on this?

Ignorance breeds fear. Many do not understand if we do not feed our children the typical SAD diet we grew up on. I have read other links in which physicians state that this particular child's death was related to a genetic disorder and not her diet. The whole situation is terribly sad.

I believe the show is a repeat and I was told that at the end of the show they admitt that the parents were doing ok with the babies diet.

Can anyone tell me if this is correct. I never watched the show but some friends told me about it.

It is a fictional show -- and yes at the end of the show it wasn't about the diet, but a tumor or something. Although, certainly did not seem like a vote of confidence for raw food. Too bad, I actually think the show is pretty good.

I just saw the end and they didn't ADMIT the parents were correct, but that the doctors and police were wrong and the baby had a problem with the thyroid. But still, I"m sure it happens in real life unfortunately.

I saw it also, and it was when the family said they consulted a nutritionist - did the Dr, call for the test.

A good reason to kill your television....this is brought to you by the same people who hype the latest "cancer causing" food report....only to retract the statements after they actually read the studies...

Television is probably one of the biggest contributors to ignorance in the world...
