So this summer at the Farmer's market I discovered sorrel and how lemony it is. I have Lorna Sass's Recipes from an Ecological Kitchen (pressure cooking) and for 15 years I had seen creamy sorrel soup and have wanted to make it. Well I finally did. Though I am 95+% raw, with the weather changing it was cold today and it seemed like a good day to try it. This soup had some potato, carrot and celery in it. It was okay and DD ate it like there was not going to be any more (which there isn't and because it has potatoes in it ;-) ).

Anyway, hands down the raw sorrel in my green smoothies is soooo much better. I made up a recipe this summer that is awesome and I call Lemon Pie GS. I basically use sorrel, lemon juice and zest, grapes, apple, chia and hemp seeds. YUMMY

Anyway I am kind of sad that I "wasted" the sorrel by cooking it, but I had to try it and now I know, which also feels good so I can let it go and not be haunted by not "knowing".

Sorrel is probably my absolute favorite for making green smoothies. I like sorrel, frozen cherries, banana, and water for mine. Can't beat it!

Your recipe sounds like a nice mix of flavors.

I miss sorrel since I am not in Europe right now. It's harder to get here in the States, or in Brazil for that matter. Sigh. I was really excited the first time I tried it. (http://whereiseva.com/2008/09/18/all-over-europe-garden-sorrel/) It was actually around this time last year, I think.

Well, you enjoy it extra for me. And really, it's so magical already! No need to cook it! But you already know that. :)
