Hey all,

I came across a great sounding smoothie recipe. Do you think this could be made raw...with fresh pumpkin?
It calls for oils as you can see. I am stopping at the market today and this particular market does not carry oils....so do you think it would work with the standard dry herb powders?

Oops...here it is.

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
1 cup organic almond milk
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
2 scoops protein powder
1 drop of cinnamon oil
1 drop of clove oil
1 drop of ginger oil
1 drop of nutmeg oil
5 drops Stevia Extract
3 or 4 ice cubes

Thanks!

I made one accidentally - was trying to make a spicey pumpkin soup but too much with the cinnamin/nutmeg and it was pumpkin pie like.

I just threw in a handful of cashews rather than almond milk...

That looks awesome. I will try it for sure as I LOVE pumpkin pie. I would just use the dried herbs in place of the oils for sure.

Here is a thread with a few more ideas. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=44609

Be sure to read the part about soaking the chopped pumpkin overnight to remove some of the starchiness.

How did you make it richedie -did you follow the recipe, or deviate? What did you do for the pumpkin puree?

I'm so curious because we have pumpkins in our garden (sugar babies) and I'd love to know - thanking you in advance! *Ü*

I tried it a few ways.

Raw pumkin puree OR canned organic pumkin puree
1/2 banana
1 cup almond milk or vanilla almond milk
2 small scoops of stevia
1/8 tsp dried cinnamon
1/8 tsp dried cloves
1/8 tsp dried nutmeg
1/8 tsp dried ginger
1 scoop protein powder (any type or skip it)
3-4 ice cubes
