Its been a while since i ate raw, and i am starting again this winter. One problem i faced last winter, and again now, is that after a couple of days i just get utterly sick of salad, to the point i think 'if i eat any more salad il puke!'
do you ever get this feeling and how do you get through it?

I'm actually wonder for how long a salad of greens, toms, cukes, and avos is going to do it for me.
Been lunch and dinner to me most days. I like to add in raw cuisine when I can - but I still like my side salad....
I don't eat lettuce salads... I think I've eaten one this past year. I put all my greens in my green smoothie and call it good. I have a big "non-lettuce" salad for dinner every night - I love them! Just not with lettuce... *Ü*

I love salads. There are so many different kinds and different dressings to put on them. I can eat the same greens with lettuce, tomato, avo and cukes every day if I have a different dressing. I also make thai salad, fruit salad, cole slaw... so MANY choices!
You know what is funny? When eating SAD we never hear people say "I'm sick of chicken" or burgers or whatever. People who eat SAD eat virtually the same things every day.
btw ~ why are you only eating salad? I've got about 70 raw food books that have a plethora of various recipes PLUS, you can just Google "raw food recipes" and get so many more. Rawmazing, PureJeevan and Russell James have free ebooks or online recipes. We have many choices! So, you're sick of salads, eat something else! You can go to YouTube and find MANY people showing you how to prepare stuff.
O.k. so, what's your problem now? :D

Sounds like it's time for some recipes! You can go for something simple like a blended soup (I like creamy tomato), or guacamole spread on lettuce leaves or flax crackers, or zucchini noodles w/marinara sauce. Or you can go for more complicated recipes, some requiring a dehydrator, some not. Not sure if you have Alissa's book, but it's got a TON of great recipes. You can also just check online and find a bunch!
There's definitely no need to eat salad every night, if you don't want to! ;)

I mix it up a little when I get tired of lettuce salads and have a cucumber salad or a tomato salad, broccoli slaw salad with sunflower seeds, or a chickpea salad, or bruchetta, guacamole or a veggie plate with a variety of dips like tzatzki, babaganoush, hummus etc.
After I go through all those I'm ready for lettuce salads again.

I completely agree with Revvell. There are tons of different salads and tons of dressings you can make. You can never get tired of it if you constantly change it around. However there are also many other meals you can eat. Raw is just as extensive and versatile as SAD, only way more fun and healthy. :)
I actually got sick of SAD food a lot. Raw, never.

Sometimes I get sick of things, like salad, and realize its because I'm too, how you say it, "routine" about it. It helps to switch up, put some greens in a smoothie, or just eat greens straight. Putting a big load of straight greens in your mouth and chewing it like gum is great for your chompers.

I have gotten sick of SAD foods before and I'm sure I'll get to a point where I'll get sick of some RAW foods too. Right now, just thinking of eating greens doesn't sit well with me and was really causing issues with me starting my 30 days RAW last week. I finally realized I had to start out with fruit and really minimize the amount of greens and vegetables I ate. It's helping and I'm doing it now. I think you just have to listen to your body and do what it asks you to do and find ways around its likes and dislikes. Just my two pence.

I'm like Revvell, I never get tired of salads. But the question is... how do you define a salad. There's the basic lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, but there's so much more. Until I started raw, I didn't know you could eat kale raw - now its a staple. Massage it in lemon juice, olive oil and salt and it comes right around. Add some sun-dried tomatoes and olives and WOW! Or how about a cabbage slaw with celery, apples and walnuts. Or a corn salad with tomatoes and avocado. Or a 'liquid' salad (aka a savory smoothie). Or finely chopped vegetables in a collard green wrap? Or a salad of marinated mushrooms, red peppers and onions? The mind boggles at all the possibilities.

Should one eat with a boggled mind or will mind boggling upset one's digestion?

Wow, thank you all for your replies!
My salads are normally VERY varied, i have lots of different things to put in with it. My normal salady things are different kind of lettuce leaves with tomato, cucumber, carrot, avocado, celery, asparagus, leek (not all at once!) etc, with pine nuts, hemp seed, olive oil, and my own dressings, so they are not always the same. Its not just the salad leaves i get sick of...its just the whole 'salad' thing i think. say for instance, i did lettuce rolls filled with grated carrot and cucumber, like a burrito, and as i was thinking about what to have for my dinner i just thought 'yuck, i cant eat salad again today'
I would love to have smoothies or juices, but i dont have a blender, nor do i have a food processor or dehydorator. Just a knife!
I ate alot of fruit last time, but i have just come down with a bad case of candidia , so im limiting my fruit intake alot atm. ( but thank goodness for grapefruit!)
I really want to suceed this time, im just afraid of this feeling putting me off.:(

I totally get sick of salads. Even though I vary them and put tons of yummies in there, I get tired of them. So then I take some time off and go simpler, like having cucumbers or watermelon only for lunch. I've found that I can do a few weeks on, a few weeks off with salads.
But, I also do green smoothies every morning with either beet leaves or spinach or kale or whatever. Right now I'm just using the cheap old blender we had (until it wears out and I have to get a vitamix) so if it is at all an option, I would recommend trying to pick one up for cheap, maybe craigslist? I have a juicer and dehydrator too but I use my blender the most, especially for getting my greens.
Don't worry! Like the others have said, it is most likely just a phase your body is going through, nothing to worry about :)

Just make sure the previous owner didn't use it to make geese liver pâtés.
Perhaps it isn't salads you're getting sick of, but moreso the idea of salads... kind of a mental wall one puts up to the idea of salads... maybe the very WORD salad is what gets ya? We need a new term.... how bout DopeVeggieScramblePalooza?

Wow! That makes it tough and I'm not sure what to suggest. Quacamole and salsa wraps are one thing. You can make saur kraut.
I LOVE a really spicey quacamole with saur kraut in a wrap - weird, but delectable. Very Deli-esque.
I say go on a water fast until you can save up enough money for a $30-40 dollar blender.
Everyone needs to start somewhere....:p

i went on a 1 day water fast, LOVED IT but boy was it hard. i wanted to do a week, but a change of circumstances put a stop to that. i do a very physical job so a water fast is out of the question (although id love to do a juice fast)
i think the idea of getting sick of the idea of salad is very true, and i agree that just eating mono works very well, i think il just have to go back to basics for a while.
Well, if you want to eat the same sorts of things that one eats in a salad, just not in salad form, then try nori wraps, cabbage wraps, collard wraps, or keep trying variants of lettuce wraps. You can also spiralize (or sliver with a peeler) cucumbers, carrots, daikon radish, zucchini, etc. and marinate with sauce. Or try kelp noodles. Things like lettuce tacos with guacamole and salsa are also full of salad-like ingredients.
Otherwise, just peruse the recipe threads on this and other sites.
