Hi I just started and have 3 days about 99% raw today. (not sure about the oil in the restaurant where I work) and i had a few mints. I am preparing for the 30 day challenge.
However i Have some questions and posted them in the wrong forum already..(well some got answered :)
Ok I have for over a year eaten raw nuts and fruit for breakfast. But a lot of nuts. I have maintained my weight more or less , plus or minus about 3 lbs)
I have give up rice and bread for about 10 days now and didnt see any difference. I don't konw what i expected but it sure felt like it was a big deal to give it up.
Ok is wine allowed on a raw food diet? It is raw right?
and will I gain weight eating more nuts? Seems like nuts are the base for many of the foods ...... not to mention the added olive oil, of course this time virgin...
I eat compulsively and have suffered from other disorders in the past and this really seems like the solution. I prefer to eat vegan so that part is easy for me.
Also I live in Thailand so many of the specialty items like nama shoyu and rejuvelac are not available.
Neither is spinach but there is an abundance of Kale :) and coconuts.
I appreciate this forum and it already helped me get through the first day :)

About the wine, wine is fine. Mostly. Most wine is raw (according to David Wolfe). Go for organic wine with no added sulfites. Or you can try fermenting organic fruits into an alcoholic soup (I'm trying that right now).

You might want to look up others' questions about wine.
Personally, my reason for eating raw is my health. Putting alcohol which is a poison in my body negates that, raw or not.

Welcome
Wine is a poison so it is better to do without it if you can but there are no "raw food police" so have some if you wish.
You do not need to eat many nuts if you feel that it is not right for you. I have nuts 2 or 3 times a week but many do not have them at all. In many of the recipes you can sub seeds for nuts and that is much healthier.
You do not need nama shoyu. I have never tasted it in my life nor do I want to. If you want rejuvelac it is easy to make it. I do not think that you can buy it anywhere.

Lettuce can be poison if you eat too much of it. Maybe.
I find wine, like many other things, is great in moderation. My body/mind responds well to an occassional cup'o'brew.

It would take a heck of a lot of lettuce to become as poisonous as alcohol. I say if you're gonna drink alcohol, just drink whatever you want. Who cares if it's raw or not? It's not like the raw stuff is healthy just because it's raw so just have whatever you want. It's all poison anyway.

What about your sig doh?
If you consume cooked alcohol it'll keep cooked cravings alive.

It may take more than 10 days to notice a change from no bread or rice. You will definitely do better if you stay off of them, though! If you want to lose weight, you probably need to cut back on the nuts. Just eat fruit in the morning - no nuts. You will probably need more fruit to keep you satisfied, but that shouldn't be a problem in your location. I think it's important to eat enough so you don't get hungry!

Raw alcohol may keep cooked food cravings alive, too. I've read on this forum and another forum that it affects some people that way. If it doesn't affect you that way then have at it. If you wanna ingest things that aren't good for you, I'm not gonna take your choice away.

Yes, there are raw wines, but if you're doing it for your health you might want to eschew it.
