Hi green jeanie,
Well,Most vegetables and fruit ripens at the around summer time resulting in a lot of excess
~ Preserving our garden produce so that we have lots of yummy vegetables and fruits through the winter month is a fun garden to kitchen activity for kids and adults alike
~ You don't have to be self sufficient by the taste of yummy home-made herb oils in winter and a yummy strawberry yam sandwich awakes memories of lovely summer days spent in the garden.
~hanging is good for vegetable varieties like onions marrows, pumpkins and squashes.
Thanks

I like to freeze the abundance of wild berries that summer brings.

You could always make some kimchi. If you ever wake up with a stuffy nose you can eat a couple pieces of that and it'll clear right up =p.
