Hello! I have decided to try to go as raw as possible after checking out this site for quite awhile. I use Dr. Bronner's hemp tea tree oil soap to brush my teeth and I stay away from fluoride. I have not been to the dentist in about 3 to 5 years. I am thinking about scheduling an appointment for a check up. I ahve no cavities or anything wrong with my teeth other than my wisdom teeth coming in and they might have to be removed.
I do not want the dentist to clean my teeth with fluoride/glycerin toothpaste. So I do not know if I should schedule an appointment to see him if I do not want that done. I know there are people who do not use toothpaste and I am wondering what you guys do when or if you actually visit a dentist?
Thank you.

Try to find a dentist you can communicate with and who will respect your wishes. Preferably a holistic dentist. Try to find a progressive dentist who does metal-free crowns and fillings and digital X-rays. And read Frank J. Jerome's book, "Tooth Truth," a self-defense manual for dental patients. Read this book before you go near a dentist. Dentists are dangerous!
Dentists do not clean teeth during a checkup.

You can tell the Dentist what you want and don't want. YOU are the paying patient.
Ask the Dentist all your questions. A good Dentist who really cares about his patients will offer a free consultation to do so. If he does not, find another one.
Ask him if he guarrenttes his work in writing. Every single thing he does should be signed and guraanteed not to fail within a year or more and if it does, it gets re done free. This is really important.
Don't pay ahead of time. Pay after the service is done. Some Dentists require payment up front. Skip it.
Make sure he is good with needles and pain free shots. It's not worth a shot to try it, believe me. I learned the hard way.
Ask the Denist about the natural mineral floride, unprocessed and pure. This usually is done by Holistic Dentist, but check around. The natural mineral floride is very much similiar to the floride exsisting naturally in your body, anyway and will build up your enamel safely.

I would not get any kind of fluoride treatment, however "natural" it is claimed to be.

Hi Human!!
Well, I'm sorry if I sounded like everyone had to get flouride treatments. That is not what I meant at all....to each his own..... I was just speaking from my point of view and experiance..take it or leave it as you see fit.
I personally have to have it for cavity reasons.

Look for a dentist that remove mercury safely. They are typical homeopath doctor. I found my dentist recently and she is amazing and aware of the fluoride etc... You need to find a dentist that step out the box and learn about natural remedy.
Stand your ground and don't allow fluoride. I noticed from my past that my teeth would always get worst after a visit to the dentist. I was like you years before i went back.

I would agree, totally. if you cannot find a Dentist that has the natural mineral flouide almost the same composititon as your enamel is, then do not get it as they said.
I have been very blessed to find my Holistic Denitst that has the natural mineral flouride, and there are not many that have that procedure. Flouride has helped my teeth become stronger but it has to be in mineral form then the Denitis applies it with a lazer thingy. Anyway.........
ALso, I agree with getting the mercury fillings out. My Dentist doesn't like them and is taking all mine out.
Good luck. this is a good question and thank you very much for posting it. Many people will respond who have had alot of Dental work like I have.
