Hello everyone!
My name is Wendy and i been on the raw food diet for about a year after "blowing up" after my first year of college. I lost tons of weight, then after a while i started to gain some weight eating some cooked foods over the summer (ugh!) LOl. Well i been eating raw foods completely again for about a month and have not lost any of this excess weight (maybe a little). Im about 140ish and really want to get to 130 without gaining it back. I know the raw food diet steadily increases your weight to be where u need to be but when i first lost the weight i was really happy with my end result and want to be there again without slowly regaining weight to "where i need to be" eating raw foods. i walk for about one hour 3 days a week and would also like tips on how to stay at 130.
What do you recommend eating (or more of)? and how much should i excercise? anything will be helpful
Thanks so much in advance!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and that i am very glad for joining this site. My name is Wendy, I am from Boston and 20 years old. I began the raw food diet after my freshman year of college because of weight reasons. I blew up to about 180 pounds (and i am 5'4). I lost tons of weight(40 pounds maybe?) and now attending my third year of college while staying on this diet and not being tempted into eating the cafeteria food. I did actually get off of it at the end of the summer and now am back on it after gaining a couple of unhealthy pounds and trying to get back down again. I love eating healthy and hate eating things that i know i will regret later.

I have 2 pictures in an album somwhere lOL posted today of how i looked before raw and after and i hope it can inspire people. You can check them out and wish all the best of luck in this Journey>!

Exercise more... why not walk everyday?
Don't go back to eating cooked foods.
Eat a simple raw food diet.

I agree with sozei here - keep things SIMPLE and raw, and get a ton more exercise. The part about a raw diet increasing one's weight to where it needs to be seems to apply to those who are underweight to begin with, or have detoxed a bunch of stuff out and find themselves trimmer than they'd like. Of course, one can also be "increasing one's weight" by simply eating too much for your fuel needs vs. what's burned through activity. Or, if one is on a muscle-gaining program, one is needing to eat some more denser raw foods and be training with weights, but the weight increase will be solid weight rather than fat. But for women, even this takes time as we gain much less muscle than men due to our hormonal makeup. Rather than getting obsessive about counting calories, etc. just go simple with your food(fruits, salads, wraps, green smoothies with maybe one or two overt fats per day, but make them good fats like avocados, coconut oil, raw sundried olives, some seeds/nuts), and get in more activity. I'd add in a couple more good long walks per week than what you're doing, and some weight training. This will firm up your body, and make you feel good too. Hope this helps!

Hi Wendy! I lived in Boston for awhile. What a great place to be raw! My friend Adrienne is teaching classes there -- please email me if you want her info.

Have you been to Grezzo or Organic Garden yet? And there is a new one I heard, don't remember the name... Anyways, welcome to you!!

sorry... healthy is what we are all about. so attempting to get below what you body believes is healthy... isn't what this forum is about.

Hi and thanks for everyones advice!

Eva, yes i would love to have her information! I have been to grezzo a couple of times. I would order something every friday and bring it home and share it with my non raw family. I have not been to Organic garden yet and never even heard of it, where is that. I may swing by there.

Aleesha, thanks for merging all my information together, i dont really know how to work this yet. and im not trying to get like a skeleton or deprive my self from eating at all but just to be at a weight i feel comfortable while being healthy at the same time

But being below the healthy weight your body desires doesn't make sense to me. Why would you want to eat healthy foods and be unhealthy?

Some people do go very low with their weight. My body likes to weight just over 150 pounds and I'm comfy with that. It's all about health for me.

No , no. I said i wanted to eat healthy and be at a certain weight while eating healthy. I did not say i wanted to be unhealthy, unhealthy is something i don't want to be especially after becoming raw. I like to eat things that benefits my body and that i do not regret eating.

Basically my point is, I want to be at a certain weight being raw and maintaining that weight. I went raw specifically to lose weight then it also became about my body's health too!:)

this is what we can't help you with. we promote allowing your body to be where it needs to be, at a healthy weight right for you.

we can't help you to keep your body below that weight. ;)

I think I understand what you're saying. So, you just would need to get lots of exercise and to try to eat in moderation. Lots of greens and fruits and healthy raw fats like olive oil and avocado, in moderation. :)!
