I was reading a thread today, that spoke about grits, I had them once when I was 14 or so, they were white is all I can remember.

And it dawned on me that since I didn't grow up eating them, they don't exsist in my world. I mean I've seen a can of them in the store years ago, when I used to shop in the can section, and I saw a movie once where someone ate grits "My Cousin Vinny" super funny movie. (I love Joe Pesci)

But, grits just have not exsisted in my life. Now, I realize that many other things live in my mind, all kinds of cooked foods that I thought I used to love.

But reading this thread, got me thinking. A few people had said how they miss this food, but since I've only even tasted it once, I don't miss it at all.

I don't know if I would like certain foods, but I do know that I like to spend my money of fresh, ripe, organic produce.

So, nothing else will exsist in my mind, because I simply don't believe it exsists anymore.

Now, what is interesting about this is, since I don't believe it exsists anymore, I don't even see it.

I mean I see that it is there, but I don't relate it to food as nurishment when I see it. It looks like plastic food to me, much like a can or package doesn't relate as food to me anymore.

It looks like a box or can, but not food.

That is such a Wonderful shift in perspective RP.

I had to share a funny story about grits. Nobody I know in Canada eats them or even knows what they are.lol
So when I was little, and the show Alice was on tv, the character Flo always said " Kiss my grits"
From how she said it, I thought grits meants GUTS. And that is what I continued to think until I moved to America. :o :p :D
So, I dont miss grits either, ha!
