Hi I am new to this and naturally am at about 75% raw without making the effort. (breakfast always raw nuts and fruit, lunch always salad). I have been off grains now, thanks to all this, for about a week. Strangely I don't miss them. I also started doing the green smoothie in the morning.

Find I am less hungry in the afternoon.

I am really interested to try to go 100% raw. I live in Thailand (I am American) and am limited in some choices. (however there is an abundance of other things.. kale, coconuts, mangos..etc).

Ok here are some questions I have

Sashimi - (or is raw 100% vegan too?)
Soy Sauce?
Wine
Wasabi
Extra Virgin Olive oil (is it cold pressed? even if it does not say?)
Tobassco sauce
Olives
Isn't sesame oil always toasted?
Vinegar?

Ok I a am sure i Have more on my list bu this is it for now. Thanks!

As I work in a hotel I get 2 free meals a day. Breakfast is easy but trying to sort out lunch is a bit harder. Yes I am willing to bring some ingredients to work.

Also won't eating so much nuts make you gain weight? I eat a lot in the morning and maintain my weight but it seems that they are a base for many other things.

I would like to lose about 5- 10 bls also.

Thank you! and also for people who post before and after pictures. This forum is great!

:)

Hi,

Sashimi - (or is raw 100% vegan too?)

Not all raw foodists are vegan but this forum ist a raw vegan forum.

Soy Sauce?

Not raw, soy has to be heated in order to be edible.

Wine

Usually not raw, I have heard that there are raw vines, but I'd say the bad thing about wine is not that it has been heated but that it contains alcohol.

Wasabi

If you buy fresh wasabi hoarse radish, it is raw, the one from the jar, I doubt.

Extra Virgin Olive oil (is it cold pressed? even if it does not say?)

Yes, extra virgin means cold pressed.

Tobassco sauce

I highly doubt.

Olives

The olives themselves are raw but they are normally marinated in non-raw things. Sometimes they have chemical preservatives in them, or tons of salt. If you want really raw olives, you will probably have to find a raw food store or order them online.

Isn't sesame oil always toasted?

I have not found any raw seasame oil, yet.

Vinegar?

There are brands of apple cidar vinegar that are raw, but normally, vinegar is not.

As a raw foodist, one has to get used to not buying food in jars or bottles (with a few exceptions live virgin oil). Things like chili-pepper sauce, wasabi, ect, can be made by using the fresh incrediences.
