Ok... I just went to whole foods market and bought everything for week 1....I spent $250..... whew!!!! So I spent 1 1/2 hours in the produce section and nuts section trying to find everything!

I was successful... with a bit of help from the employees!

Here's where I got confused.... some of the nuts said raw, and some didn't say raw, they said whole and were not salted or roasted... is that what I'm supposed to get?

Also the dates... was I supposed to get the ones that were kind of wet in the produce section, or the ones that were by the dried fruits they were called unsulphured whole dates.

Also the raisins... they were by the dried fruit and were called unsulphured Thomson raisins.

Did I get the right stuff?

Please let me know someone.... I'm really at the beginning of the learning curve.

Wow! Sounds like you did well! Yes nuts not roasted or salted. Sounds like the dates and raisins are okay. Don't dwell on whether this is right or wrong. Try to keep it simpler.

MAIN question - did you get Alissa's book?

$250.00!!!!!! WOW!!!! If you ever feel the need to buy some RAW food for someone, please call me!!!! :)

That's a HUGE amount of money...then again, it depends on WHAT you bought and where you bought it. Since you shopped at Whole Foods, I can see you spending your "WHOLE Paycheck"!!! :D Also, if you bought Organic everything, I can see where the amount you spent could be up there. Anyway, I'm sure you are fully stocked and ready to go!!! I'd LOVE a peek at what you bought! I'm puttin' my bid in for dinner at your house!!!!!

I don't think I've EVER spent that much at one time since I've been eating this way. When I did Alissa's 1st 30 day Menu, I probably spent that much for the ENTIRE MONTH!!! But, I usually shop at the Mega HEB and get speciality things at Whole Foods. I also already had most of my "staples" whereas you probably didn't.

I echo Lucy, though...Do you have Alissa's Book? It'll make things a lot easier for you, if you did...and less costly since she has all of the ingredients listed for you of what to buy for each week the 1st 30 days.

I wish you the best in RAW World!!! I'm SOOOO Excited for you!!!! Keep things simple and you will succeed! Welcome to MY World!!!! :)

Renee? I thought the same thing about how much $ was spent but didn't say anything but so glad YOU did. Initially to stock up if one can afford that, gr8, but you don't HAVE to spend that much! That is why I said to keep it simple in the beginning while you "learn" all about this healthy lifestyle. And please DO learn. Surround yourself with the knowledge that is plentiful. Remember too, we all started just like you and we all thriving and reaping the benefits of this so healthy/healing life change.
