I saw this in late January, early February of '08, and I swear, it got me going onto raw! After viewing the video, since it was lunch-time, I immediately prepared a collard burrito, and at around the same time latched onto the green smoothies as a successful gateway into raw. I watched that video every day for awhile - it was so motivational! Even though some of the effects in the video were over the top in some respects, Markus really is a great motivational speaker in that he gets people EXCITED about going raw and that they could so-o do this!

Different strokes for different folks. This video really turns me off, actually. The shaved chest and dyed blonde hair. YUK> But I am glad he loves raw and am glad he inspires someone. Just not me. The Simply Raw video is much more to my liking. Since they had the half off sale, I just ordered a second copy, along with the Raw for Life Video, just so I have an extra to loan out to people.

I agree with katchmoleen. In fact I am disgusted by that video on so many levels.
Not only does he try to make himself look like this world famous he-man rock star that is worshiped by everyone.
He tries to sell raw food as something more than it is in my opinion. There's just no reality to it.
And that fake rock concert footage is just too much. Way too much.

However, I was surprised when listening to Revvells interview with Marcus. Because he seems like a pretty nice down to earth guy.
So my guess is that it's some way of tackling his crappy childhood and lack of self confidence or something. That combined with a passion for film making.
I just wish he would stop doing it publically :D

I'm with katchmoleen and SevenKindsOfCookie on this one. I have been vegan for many years now and whenever raw food comes up on those forums this vid comes up and it gets kinda nasty.

I guess I like the calmer delivery method. Jinjee got me started and I have enjoyed her vids and books as well as Alissas vids and books..... I just like their way of delivering the message.

Either way, I'm glad the vid is inspiring to some :)

It seems that there is an automatic assumption that the reason the video is being enjoyed is because of the Nelson Brothers looking dork on the stage. I'm definitely not attracted to the man jumping around on stage in the video. If anything, I'm attracted to the women.

The reason I like the video is because it's inspiring, which is what I believe I stated in my first post. I'm inspired by the words in the video. Yes, there were words in the video. I really enjoyed the fervor of the people who had been ill that weren't ill anymore and who were happy about expressing that. I was thrilled for them and that's what was the most moving for me. I was excited that the crowd looked excited. I was happy that that couple were happy. That dude was the least interesting of them all as far as I was concerned, but he sure must have caught your eyes katchmoleen, Denise Nicole, brendasue, & SevenKindsOfCookie since you're the ones bringing him up. :)

LOL, yeah, he did catch the eye, that's for sure! The first time I started to watch the video, could NOT get through the first few minutes. Later I toughed it out and did enjoy the individual interviews. But I have enjoyed other videos a great deal more. The one by Storm Tallifero, Breakthrough, is much more to my liking, as is Simply Raw. Quiet in its presentation, and methodical and scientific but in the end VERY inspirational. So I guess since we are all different it is wonderful we have these different films and also wonderful we can all share what we like or don't like about them, so as to help others make a choice.

This video didn't bother me one bit! Obviously, this guy is an entertainer so that's his spin on it. Some people are chefs, some people are entertainers. Each is bringing the message in their own way. I enjoyed his German message (on his website), he must have been born there, like me. His German is a little rusty, also like mine. He looks pretty hot to me, for a 47 year old, wow!
