View Full Version : Raw Ravolies and a mishap

I made the raw ravolies last night and since I don't have anything to slice it thin enough, I tried using a potato peeler. That was not working too well.
So, I decided to try it on my food processor slicer, by hand! Stupid mistake.
I sliced my right ring finger pretty good. We bandaged it up and I took a break from making them.
The cheese mixture is wonderful and can be used for so many other things!
So, after I felt better, I just cut them up in my food processor, way too thick, but then cut them in half and put the cheese mixture in there and then the tomatoe sauce over it and let is sit.
I thought they were good even without soaking. My husband loved the cheese sauce and was eating it between lettuce!! Well, I was too, that was my dinner grazing on a handful of cut up lettuce and putting the cheese mixture between it.
I let is soak all night and it got softer, but not soft enough for people to think it's pasta.
My husband took one and tried it at 4:30 this morning and on the way out the door said, wow, that's pretty good!
Anyways, if you have not tried this recipe yet, you really need to, it is so worth it!
I can't wait to do it right and see how it turns out! I need the right appliances for my kitchen so I don't kill myself trying out these dishes! :D
